I started this fingerless mitt project. I put it on my planner to begin them and I’m happy with the progress I’ve made. It’s definitely easier and the pattern makes more sense to me than the very first time I made one.
I tucked my finished mitts on the bottom of my coffee table as part of my winter and valentine decor.
In other Valentine news, my sister’s line of Valentine pillows will soon be available in her shop. It’s worth your time to go over here and take a peek! Some styles are limited release and won’t be available again.
I love Valentine’s Day. I really do just love the pink and red and I like to browse through all the Valentine-y beauty of the special candy in the Wal-Mart aisle.
{Oh, and psssstttt…..we have a couple giveaways coming up geared towards Valentine’s Day! (all the hand claps)}
I cracked open the cover on Good News for Weary Women.
I haven’t honestly decided yet what I think of this book. Have you read it? I’d love to hear some opinions. Although, I admit that I often laugh when reading reviews on Amazon or Verizon or anywhere…………..Basically, you always have people who love it and people who can’t stand the product. Sometimes the reviews do help if a lot of people say somewhat the same thing.
‘Cause when it comes right down to it, it really is all in the opinion and this world contains a lot of opinions along with a lot of people! 🙂 Most books have something in them that I wouldn’t completely agree with or resonate with.
Just this morning, I read another blogger’s opinion of one of my favorite books I read in 2016. She thought it was a little slow. I loved it!! Reading her take on it, made me laugh. What resonates with me certainly may not with you! What gets me excited may bore you to the point of playing endless games of Solitaire. 😉
That’s probably why, like Anne, we thrill when we find a truly kindred spirit!
Good News for Weary Women is interesting and I do resonate with some of the feelings. I just haven’t quite decided if I filter everything through the same lens as the author. And as a writer of words, I totally get that a lot of heart and soul and “YOU” gets put into the books and words you put out there in front of others.
The creating process works that way. Whether it’s writing or crafting or welding or carpentry, we put ourselves into what we love to do.
I’m almost finished with When Jesus Was a Green-Eyed Brunette.
I started Parenting with Grace and Truth by Dan Seaborn. It’s very encouraging. We’re going to have a giveaway starting Friday for a copy of this book!!
I’m also eagerly awaiting a copy of Craving Connection to arrive in my mailbox. It just released. I’m quite looking forward to it.
Progress on the dishcloths for my friend! This post shows the fun yarn she picked out for a stack of dishcloths.
Two completed and another one three-quarters finished! Yay!
I love having a flexi to clip my dishcloth and needles all together with. If you’d like to try one for your knitting, I’d be glad to share my flexi styles with you over here on my Lilla Rose site!
Kid Pick
These sweet dvds.
They’re perfect for very young tots, but older kiddos who like movies will watch right along too!
I’ve noticed several post on IG of organization and rearranging that people have been busy with. My upstairs closet was quite a mess and last week, I spent some time setting it right….well, better anyway! 🙂 I’d thrown Christmas wrapping paper and some Lilla Rose stuff and other odds and ends in it during December and didn’t take time then to put things in neatly.
Are you organizing during January? Have you started any other new projects?
I’m *almost* ready to put away my Christmas trees. I love the twinkle so much. I should drape some lights somewhere, but I haven’t really decided on a spot that I think would flow with my decor. I have contemplated the top of the piano, so we’ll see what happens.
Linking up with Ginny and Frontier Dreams ~
We didn’t have many decorations, other than a small 3 foot Christmas tree which needs to come down.
