I’ve been savoring the Christmas season.
I never get all the activities done that I’d really like to, but every season is that way for me.
I always have IDEAS and love all the traditions and activities and the days always slip away too quickly.
Two things I’ve been especially loving this December are the soft twinkle of Christmas lights and cozy blankets. We have a couple new blankets and I have several spread around our living room, so where ever you land there is a blanket close by to pull around you! Loving it.
Matthew started our wood furnace yesterday and I am gloriously happy about it. It makes our house so cozy and I’m convinced it’s warmer.
The wood heat makes our basement cozy, cozy, cozy!
{I really should have a tea cozy in this post, because cozy seems to be the direction this post is headed since I’ve already used the word five times.}
Woops! I almost forgot to talk about………………my books!
I was quite, quite happy when I realized Katherine Reay was coming out with another book in November. I quick added it to my Christmas list.
I read it over the weekend. I was more worn out than I realized from Thanksgiving and traveling and having fun with family. Plus, we took a quick trip up to Niagara Falls from my parents’ house. So, basically we had a lot packed into a week or two.
It felt very good to let down and lay on my couch under a COZY {of course} blanket and read this book I’d been looking forward to.
It was set in Italy, so that was pretty fun since Italy is on my places-I’d-visit-list.
It was an interesting story with twists and turns and some very loveable characters. It made me hungry for pizza and the ambience of a lovely restaurant. It made me picture stacks of good books and think about the gift of good friends. And in the end, I loved the grace spilled and spelled out for each of us willing to accept it.
Look at this crocheted pineapple hot mat! How cute is that?! My mother found it in a cute, little shop back in the fall and tucked it into my stocking for a fun surprise!
KID PICK this week!
Throwing in some favorite Christmas storybooks.
The Giving Manger…………….if you saw it in the giveaway we had for one. I love the carved baby.
All the Christmas Arnold Ytreeide books.
I talked about them last year in Yarn Alongs, I think.
Here’s my Mother’s finished pom-pom wreath! We were pleased with how it came out and the touch it added to her corner.
I used yarn she had leftover from a blanket she knitted for my sister’s youngest daughter……approximately ten years ago!
My crazy dishcloth! I ran out of red and used funny scraps of yarn to finish.
A rainbow of colors!
A friend asked me to knit her a stack of dishcloths and picked out the yarn she wanted.
Aren’t they fun colors? I’m excited to have them to work on. I’ve done one and started another, but my needles have been quiet for a while here.
I mentioned my bear slippers I’ve been padding around in. I thought I’d snap a quick picture, so you could see them. They make me giggle. They’re so COZY-looking and quite COZY for my toes as well!
Miss Renae has Panda ones and the other evening as we both wandered around the kitchen she quipped, “We’re walking around in our “bear” feet!” 🙂 🙂 🙂
I’ve been snuggling into my Choose Joy sweatshirt as well and it is quite cozy, too. I bought it about a year ago and I still love it. I wore it a lot last winter right after my surgery.
What is making your December lovely and COZY????
Happy day!
Linking up with Ginny and Frontier Dreams ~

Giggling about the bear feet!!!! Glad the slippers fit you” (Sorry, Tucker!)
We have been hit with a huge amount of blowing snow today – cozy is exactly what I want to read about tonight! My cozy tends to be heavy socks, hooded sweatshirts and my favourite down blanket. It makes me want to melt into my bed 🙂
