Here’s a few random ramblings from the behind the scenes at A Delightful Glow:
Meet Us…
First off, we’re a Kansas farm family. Nope, you don’t normally find us on the beach! 🙂 We’re more likely found on a dirt road or in a wheat field. My sister took these family pictures for us in 2015 when we met them in the Outer Banks and I’m so happy to have them!
Renae Matthew Deborah Tucker
As the blogger and “talker” behind the face of A Delightful Glow, here are some of my details. 🙂
If any of them resonate with you and inject inspiration or a bit of encouragement into your day, come back and we’ll contemplate life and the lovely, the mundane and the momentous, the challenges and the triumphs together!
I think laughter is important. I can be optimistic and I can be pessimistic. I can be opinionated. I believe in compassion and mercy. I’m thankful for grace, because I mess up a lot. I love Jesus Christ and I strive to have a faith that keeps growing and getting stronger. I’m a fan of marriage and I believe fervently in great marriages founded in Jesus and I believe in commitment.
I wish I wouldn’t be so quick to judge others. I’m most-certainly-absolutely-definitely a work-in-progress. I have fears and insecurities, but I know fulfillment is in Christ alone.
I have this great husband who happens to farm for a living. I’m glad I get to share life with him even though I’m not exactly a perfect farmwife type. I’d rather be behind my camera taking pictures of a tractor than behind the steering wheel of the tractor. But I love our small farming operation and I love having a home in the country for our kiddos to grow up on.
Cause I also have two super-cali-fragi-listic kiddos {now teens}! I thank God for blessing my man and me with them. They are growing up all too quickly and I feel the moments slipping through my fingers. We are a homeschooling family and I’m so thankful for the time we get to have with our kids.
We had a beagle named Cooper and he liked to terrorize our cats. {You can go here and read Our Dog, Cooper. We loved him a lot and had a lot of fun with him. We wouldn’t trade a day.}
We have a lot of cats usually. My children could tell you their names, but I can’t. I’m losing brain cells and I can not keep up with all the kitten names anymore.
We do a lot of ordinary living. We do laundry. We do dishes. We cook. We bake. We clean. We run errands. We work on stuff. We play. We learn. We do it all again. Some days it feels a little like an endless cycle. 🙂
We have our good days and our awesome days and our-not-so-awesome days and our no-good-terrible-yucky-very-bad days, too. I mostly talk about the good days. But don’t ever think we never have the bad. None of us wants the bad and I thrive much better when I focus on the good instead of the bad; when I probe for the positive instead of getting knocked down by the negative.
I love good quotes and random trivia questions. Little things that make life interesting.
Beauty blesses me and I am grateful for it. I enjoy creating home and adding touches to make life beautiful.
I love to take pictures. I’ve been taking pictures since I was sixteen. Really, since before that. But I received a Fuji camera of my own for my sixteenth birthday and loved it and used it for a lot of years. In 2006, I bought my first digital camera and that opened a whole new scope to taking pictures!
Photography just rolls well with blogging. I like farm pictures. I like pictures of my kids and my man. I like pictures of inanimate objects and everyday. I like pictures of the day-to-day and of the details. I like pretty pictures and beauty. I enjoy capturing life through the lens.
I like words and I like to write and I am a hope*writer. I muse and chit-chat and ponder in some posts.
I read and review books here on my blog. And offer giveaways for books. And take pictures of books. And get excited about books! If you love books, then YAY!!!
You’ll find me sharing crafts and knitting and projects and recipes too. I’d love to hear about your favorites!
I sell Lilla Rose! I love my flexis and I’m excited to share them with you! Find sizing and styling tips and tricks here. Young Living Essential Oils are another of my interests and loves. I’d be happy to help you learn more about them and launch you on your own oil adventure.
A Delightful Glow is… Of Family, Faith and Farm…and some food thrown in too! Where there’s family there’s a need for food and where there’s farming there’s a need for faith. Faith for the sprouting of seed to burst forth into a crop ready for the harvest!
A Delightful Glow is also my place to simply delight in the daily details. I can get bogged down in the routine and the mundane and the cycle of all the dailies. Yet, when I step back and adjust my view, I see the beauty of the blessings we have and the awesome thing it is to have the ability to go about each day, living life and performing daily duties. Life will not always be as it is today.
So, if you’ve stopped in here or stumbled upon us, AND read this far, welcome and come back!! 🙂
If you like to read, there are a few more this-and-that details below, just because!
Blessings!

Hello there! Came over from Jill’s…love your blog design. She put a picture of your header up and I was sold without ever having read the description. Can’t wait to follow along.
I, too, prefer baking over cooking but until now never realized it was probably because of my adoration of chocolate chip cookies over steamed broccoli.
Wow. That’s a lot of sisters! What a blessing. I have 0 sisters and 2 sisters-in-law.
I love tea parties too. They’re my happy place. 🙂
I love how blogging connects us with wonderful women, all over the country! Your family is beautiful and I’ll bring the vanilla ice cream, next time you make brownies!

I just stumbled across your blog this morning. Can’t believe I didn’t know about this since we live only ½ mile from you. I enjoyed reading your list and we are very much alike except I LOVE science! See you soon. Janell
I love blogging, but it’s not something I talk about all the time and I can feel funny about telling people I know! Ha! So that part isn’t super surprising when it comes to you not knowing. 🙂
You are awesome at Science and I love all the things you tell Renae. And she does too. She has really loved her Science studies the last couple of years. So fun to see her learn. She’s well beyond me!!
I’m taking a deep breath and re-entering “normal” life now that the wheat is cut. Whatever normal is!!! 🙂
I’m glad you found me and let me know you did.
