It’s Think Write Thursday over at Carole’s………….
Today’s topic is
HELLO FEBRUARY!!!
This subject is fun for me since I wrote a long run of Hello Monday posts that morphed into Memoir Monday posts and then ran their course for that season and time.
Along with greeting February with a cheery hello, we’re welcoming this pretty Cherish flexi at Lilla Rose! It released early during our 41 hour sale last week, but here it is again if you missed it then! Pop over here to snag one!
{New to Lilla Rose? Want to know more? Come over here to my Meet Lilla Rose page. I’ll be glad to show you around!}
Did you read the title of this post?
If so you would conclude that you’re going to see a burlap runner and yellow roses and hear a story.
That’s right.
Though as it would happen, they aren’t laid out in that particular order.
The story part comes first.
HELLO STORY for February!!
See this pillow with the pretty pink hearts and the one gray sweater heart? And see this sweater sachet and the heart-shaped pillow heart?
My sister handcrafted them all and packed them carefully in a box and entrusted them to her local USPS to transport them to my local USPS.
That’s how they ended up on my back doorstep one January day.
And delighted my day with happy mail!
The story starts before all of the packing and creating, though. Wait. That would be CREATING and then packing. No use packing it before you create it. Ahem.
My grandmother passed away four years ago. Among her belongings was her gray sweater and my Mother, knowing that my sister used sweaters for various creations, asked my sister if she wanted to use it for a project.
My sister gladly accepted it, but tucked it away knowing she wanted to do something special and something meaningful at some point. She didn’t want to use the sweater for just ANY project or just anyone.
As she started to think about Valentine pillow designs for this year, this pillow design and idea was born. She began to stencil and stitch.
She put together three of these pillows, sachets and hearts. One set for my mother, one set for me and one she could keep.
I have loved having these keepsakes in my living room. Their double meaning makes me happy.
I love Valentine’s Day anyway and then the keepsakes from Grandma’s sweater to tie into it as well.
Very special!
I’m so grateful to my sister and I love to see her creativity.
She has pillows in her shop in this same design, but the sweater heart is made from leather instead. Pop over here and check them out! She has other terrific Valentine designs as well.
Hello Valentine Decor! You make me smile.
Late evening shots……………..
Hello lovely burlap and lace table runner!!!
Burlapfabric.com sent me this runner and I just got it out and put it down the middle of my island. It’s fun to have it there!
In all honesty, I don’t know how long it will get to stay. This is the first time I’ve tried a runner on my island with plans to keep it for a while. I use my island a good bit, so the runner may end up needing to go on the table if I find I don’t have the space I need on either side of it. For now, I’m going to enjoy the look!
{You can read about my table runner collection in this post.}
I love the rings and tassels on the end of the runner. Super fun touches!
My burlap ribbon is still tucked in my display! Did you see it in my post over here about my sweater wreath?
Are you a burlap fan? I like it. I’ve always liked the whole denim and pearls idea and burlap and lace go right along with this!
Just another angle and a bit closer up………………
Hello from-up-above-shot! I’ve fallen for these kind of pictures. Thanks to Instagram!
Want more burlap inspiration?
I have burlap gift tags here and a burlap banner here!
Hello yellow roses! You are beautiful.
I’d been longing for a few fresh flowers and a bit of bright never is a bad thing. I picked these roses up on a trip to town yesterday morning.
Look how they are almost in a heart shape in the picture above!!! Perfect for a February post.
AND…………………….yellow was my Grandma’s favorite color, so that makes these yellow roses a perfect accompaniment to this post.
One more peek at the pillows!

So special to have the pillows made from Grandmas sweater. Brought tears when I opened it and realized what it was. I love them. Glad you and Jill have a set, too. Yellow roses are beautiful. Fresh flowers are so fun. I always enjoy your posts even though I don’t always comment.
