A quick look at colorful knits! I finished two plummy-raspberry colored dishcloths. When I spied this bright ball of variegated yarn in the bag, as I dug through it, I had to grab it and all its cheerfulness.
I have a start on a bright, cheery dishcloth! All tucked up nice and neat in a flexi hold while it waits for my return and further progress!
I began this project a couple of weeks ago and finished it up last week. I wanted to hang it on my front door and take down my jingle bell wreath that is still portraying Christmas.
I can’t though.
Something has gone awry with our front door lock and it won’t unlock and the door won’t open.
I can’t go switch it from the outside because of my screen door. It has a little hook latch that I keep fastened into place so the screen door won’t blow open like it’s wont to do otherwise.
And my Mr. Fix-it Man has other things requiring his attention and the weather has not been the best weather for working on doors and locks when there’s the chance the door may need to be open for an extended time when work does commence.
It’s not a big deal. We don’t use that door a lot.
The main reason right now that I’d like it operable is for the “Changing-of-the-wreath”! 🙂
I found a place in my living room to put it for now.
And I like it there!
The beginning of January found a package headed my way from BurlapFabric.com.
It contained several fun items and one of them was this burlap trim.
They sent me several fun things to try and I’ll be showing them to you as I can!
You can find a great assortment of Burlap Ribbon right here at BurlapFabric. They have some fantastic colors!
For this wreath, I started with a styrofoam form.
I had some sweater scraps left from in the fall when my friend, Brenn and I made sweater pumpkins. That was a fun project too! I think I put some pics of them in a Yarn Along…………..but I may not have because it seemed like fall was hustle-bustle {as normal} and I had several things I wanted to post and I did not get them all posted.
I hot glued the sweater material onto the form. This was not without its small challenges and strain-to-my-brain to QUITE think how I needed to place the material.
I made it work out well enough to please me.
Then I a couple of pieces and wrapped them around to create a scarf look.
I added the red bow and a pink pom-pom for fun.
Then to help cover my inside edges, I thought about my burlap ribbon trim and went to get it.
It added just the touch I was looking for!
Glue gun time again!
On it went.
Finally, I added the felty-red-ribbon around the top to be my hanger for this wreath!
Hurrah!
I like red and aqua together.
Here’s a closer-up look at the burlap ribbon……on the wreath……
and the roll of it in the photos below.
It honestly adds a fun look as part of the decor!!
{I had to scoot the box of Kleenex hanging out on the island out of my picture. Tucker has had a cold and extra boxes of Kleenex have shown up around my house all week.}
More red! This is a good time of year for red with Valentine’s Day approaching!
I finished this mitt!!!!!!! They’re getting knit up for a far-away friend of mine. I’m anxious to start on the next one. IF I would take/make the time, I could {maybe} send a Valentine package her way.
{Don’t miss entering the giveaway going on right now for a Valentine’s package of chocolates + coffee from Winans!}
{AND we have another Valentine’s giveaway coming tomorrow……it’s very exciting…..it contains Lilla Rose, Creative Carmella and Sew a Fine Seam!} {These are a few of my favorite things!!}
Closer-up look at the detail! {Because I think the detail is fun and intriguing.}
I made a very few pom-pom hearts. I like them, but I admit they took a little more work and a lot more brain-strain for this getting-older gal!
I did quite a bit of trimming on them and I had to *think* about where I wanted to trim and how, to get a heart-shape.
I keep thinking about making some Valentine’s, but have not done it so far.
Laura at Decor to Adore has some fantastic prize ribbons Valentines and I want to mess around and see if I can do something along that line.
Craving Connection has been so fun for me to read. I really like it. It’s peaceful and a little bit like sitting down with friends for a lovely chat.
I also started When We Last Spoke. It’s a review and giveaway book and we’ll have a giveaway for a copy of it coming up soon.
I asked on my fb page what people like to do to keep track of their Want-To-Read list! I have a habit of throwing titles I want to remember into my Amazon cart and adding them to my save-for-later list.
Several people mentioned Good Reads as their go-to. I think I signed up on Good Reads, but I’ve never taken the time to explore it much and I’m not familiar with it. Do you use it?
Last week I shared a couple of prayer journals from The Daily Grace Co and this week I have another simple design. I think this grace journal is so sweet. Wouldn’t it make a wonderful gift for a woman named Grace or with Grace as her middle name?! Or if you chose a word for your year and you chose Grace as your word!
I also love this notepad!
What a great title!
Goals & Grace!! Yes! I certainly need both.
{Find this notepad here.}
I had a gift certificate given to me for The Daily Grace Co and I used it this week and I’m very anxious for my package to arrive!
One more thing……………if you’re looking for an online Bible study, this caught my attention yesterday.
It’s an online study for The Broken Way by Ann Voskamp. Go here for information and to join! I noticed it because I won a package bundle for this study in a giveaway soon after Thanksgiving. A few friends and I are starting the study the beginning of February. I think it will be interesting.
Knowing I would soon be beginning it, the online opportunity stood out to me. There are some really pretty printables that are free when you sign up for the study. I did sign up because I thought it might make a good supplement if I have some extra time. I really didn’t think I was going to print the printables, but then I did! I used some heavier paper and they came out very, very nicely!
AND last, but not least…………………we have a sale at Lilla Rose and the February flexi and new styles! I’m putting up a post with just the Lilla Rose information and you can go read all about it here.
What are you reading?
Linking up with Ginny and Frontier Dreams ~
