It’s sixty-six degrees here today and the sun is shining against a perfectly gorgeous, blue, Kansas sky! It’s a bit windy for my taste, but hey, I’ll take me some lovely fall weather. YES, I WILL. 🙂
I mixed up an English Toffee cappuccino for a midafternoon break and curled up with The Joy of Missing Out and read!
{By the way, isn’t this a super-great title? Totally enjoying this book!}

Flash
Flash the Donkey Makes New Friends
Walking with Henry
A great, big thank-you to Rachel for signing and sharing these books with us for a bookish October giveaway!
I hosted a women’s event this spring and Rachel was our speaker! It was a fantastic time! I mentioned it in this post. I *think* I intended to post some pictures from the event and it never made it far enough up the to-do list to happen yet!!! Oh dear! Solidarity to anyone else out there whose ideas and intentions outweigh their time, energy, and goal list! 🙂
I was absolutely delighted to first meet Rachel in the pages of Flash, then through interaction on blogs and social media, and finally, in real life!!! Truly a gift and blessing!
{Find Rachel’s book, Company Girl, in this post about friendship gift books!}
Here’s my review about Walking With Henry, from this post, Ten New Books I’m Excited About in 2019.
” Henry has to adapt to a whole lot of new things and he’s often very cautious about it. Sometimes it’s too much to face. Sometimes Henry simply turns around and backs into the situation he’s unsure of. You know, Henry, I get it. There’s a whole lot of times when I feel very unsure about the next step and the next decisions.
And Flash. Well, Flash, I get your feelings too. Sometimes it takes time to adjust to change and the addition of something you’re not completely prepared for. {or in Flash’s case, a feisty miniature donkey}
Rachel Anne Ridge once again shares her story and heart in a relatable, gentle way. If you’ve ever been afraid of change, mourning what was or wishing you could redo a situation, you’ll find a friend in these pages.”
Enter to win this set of books! Beautiful and inspiring memoir AND a super fun children’s book.
{I have more pictures inside Flash the Donkey Makes New Friends over in this post.}
Fun Fact: Each two-page spread inside Flash the Donkey Makes New Friends has a daisy on it somewhere for you and your little readers/listeners to find! My four and six-year-old nieces adore this book! We’ve been known to read it more than once while they were visiting me!
Super Fun Fact: Rachel Ridge not only wrote the children’s book; she painted the pictures for it as well! Isn’t that super fun? I love creativity!
