Another list of ten books for this Tuesday, book friends! It is COLD in Kansas. “Cold” seems to be the case in many parts of the U.S. What’s the temp where you are?
I’m excited about all these titles in 2019! They’ve either been released or are releasing in the next couple of months. I’ve been on the launch teams for a few of these titles and I’m always thrilled to receive the books a bit early AND have the privilege of sharing them on my blog, my blog fb page, Instagram and IG Stories. {I share books fairly often in my IG stories if you aren’t aware of this and would like to know! 🙂 }
A couple more things I want to share in the chance you aren’t aware of them………….
If you pre-order a book on Amazon, Amazon guarantees you the lowest price the book hits before release day. For example…. I pre-ordered Cozy Minimalist Home. The list price is $24.99. I pre-ordered for $18.99. Before the book released the price dropped to $14.99 and when Amazon shipped my book, they gave me the $14.99 price. On the buyer end of it, I love this perk. I can pre-order books from my favorite authors and know I will get the best price if it drops after I pre-order.
Pre-orders are also a terrific way to help out your favorite authors. Pre-orders matter a great deal for a variety of reason, some I am not completely aware of. One reason I do know of is it causes booksellers and bookstores pay attention. When a book receives a lot of attention itself and has a large amount of pre-orders it makes the sellers sit up and pay attention and note they need to stock larger quantities of this book. This, in turn, helps the author with sales and numbers and helps promote awareness of their book! People are less likely to order a book if it shows up as out-of-stock. While it might sound great to hear, “This new book sold out on it’s first day!!!!”………in actuality it can work against the author.
In no particular order, here’s today’s list!!! Yay! {I love books.} {One of my dreams is a someday-room-filled-with-beautiful-built-in-bookshelves!} 🙂
Number 1 ~
Walking With Henry by Rachel Anne Ridge ~ March 5
I’ve been looking forward to this book a lot! I loved Rachel Anne Ridge’s book, Flash. I’m on the launch team for Walking With Henry and I dare say you definitely want to pre-order this one!
Henry has to adapt to a whole lot of new things and he’s often very cautious about it. Sometimes it’s too much to face. Sometimes Henry simply turns around and backs into the situation he’s unsure of. You know, Henry, I get it. There’s a whole lot of times when I feel very unsure about the next step and the next decisions.
And Flash. Well, Flash, I get your feelings too. Sometimes it takes time to adjust to change and the addition of something you’re not completely prepared for. {or in Flash’s case, a feisty miniature donkey}
Rachel Anne Ridge once again shares her story and heart in a relatable, gentle way. If you’ve ever been afraid of change, mourning what was or wishing you could redo a situation, you’ll find a friend in these pages.
Number 2 ~
Pathways by Tony Evans ~ Jan 2
This was one of my recent review books from B&H/Lifeway.
I’ve long loved the book of Esther and the lessons in it. One of my favorite Bible studies is a study on Esther called It’s Tough Being a Women by Beth Moore.
When I saw Tony Evans new book was about Esther it piqued my interest. Tony Evans is a favorite of mine and his words and teachings encourage me. Pathways is no different! This book teaches about the Providence of God and His plans and purpose for each of us in our particular time.
A quote I loved from the book ~
“When I recently asked my dad what his advice would be to a new believer, he boiled it down to two simple, yet profound things. He said, “Study the Word of God to obey it, and follow the leading of the Holy Spirit.”
A lesson from the book and the story of Esther I loved ~ “God is the God of divine reversals.” So true. God can reverse what looks impossible, improbable and intimidating.
If you feel fearful in the challenges you face and your purpose seems small and your circumstances less than stellar, this book will encourage you to cling to God and trust His providence to guide you. Tony Evans brings us bold truth and a gracious look at God’s Providence.
Number 3 ~
PlaceMaker by Christie Purifoy ~ March 12
You can pre-order this book right now too! I’m on the launch team for it and have been eagerly awaiting it! I loved Roots & Sky by Christie Purifoy and PlaceMaker is wonderful too. She has a gentle story-telling voice. I love reading her words, hearing her stories and pausing to notice the details and lessons with her along the way.
Number 4 ~
The DIY Style Finder by KariAnne Wood ~ March 5
So excited about this book!!!! KariAnne Wood has the best contagious laugh and the biggest heart and she rocks red lipstick and home decor! I love all her books. So much.

Number 5 ~
Glorious Weakness: Discovering God in All We Lack by Alia Joy ~ April 2
I’m excited for this book and cheering Alia Joy on! She’s among the first people I “met” online and I was in a FB group with her and several other bloggers a bunch of years ago. Fact is, I think that was the VERY FIRST Facebook group I was ever in and it all felt very new and I wasn’t too sure exactly what a FB group was! Haha!
Alia has struggled/does struggle with bipolar and depression and her journey isn’t always easy or light. Yet in it, she’s discovered how glorious our weakness can become when we lean on God for everything we lack. Alia has a beautiful, poetical way of stringing words together and piercing the darkness with glorious hope. You’ll find her blog here.
Number 6 ~
The Next Right Thing by Emily P. Freeman ~ April 2
EXCITED. Yes. Excited for THIS book! Gentle, beautiful, encouraging voices, books and storytellers are my thing! Emily P. Freeman is another author who does this so well. I can’t wait to read this book. I love Emily’s book, Simply Tuesday. The very first launch team I was ever on was for Simply Tuesday.
I joined hope*writers last year and Emily P. Freeman is one of the founders.
Number 7 ~
A Life of Lovely by Annie F. Downs ~ Jan 15
This is a book written for the young women audience, but I enjoyed it very much too. Annie F. Downs has a great sense of humor and a desire to work through hard things in her life and keep seeking answers and trusting God. At the end of each chapter she has a section titled “Look For Lovely” and a suggestion or two for ways to add the lovely in little ways to our lives. I believe this book is a great read for younger women. Annie comes alongside as a fellow friend or big sister!
Number 8 ~
Girls’ Club by Sally, Sarah and Joy Clarkson ~ Feb 5
I loved reading this book. You’ll find more chit-chat about it in this post.
Number 9 ~
Emptied by Wynter and Jonathan Pitts ~ Jan 8
A beautiful book about marriage and pouring ourselves our for each other……..more about it in this post!
Number 10 ~
The Soul of a Team by Tony Dungy ~ Jan 22
I haven’t read this book, but it’s on my want-to-read list. I need to check and see if my local library has it! Tony Dungy is a class act and I appreciate his wisdom. Uncommon Marriage by Tony and Lauren Dungy was on my list of ten favorite books I read in 2017.
