Linking up with Ginny and Frontier Dreams and Life and Yarn!
I took pictures on the porch for this week’s Yarn Along.
I do love summer.
Early mornings and evenings hold such pretty light and have their own special, summery feel.
The only knitting needles I’ve been picking up are the ones with dishcloths.
I am thinking again about my baby sock and fingerless mitt.
I’m planning to start in on one, hopefully soon. Besides I could use some time to sit and rest.
We’re on week 7 in Fervent already over at Going Beyond for Fervent Fridays.
I requested The Friends We Keep at our library and received a text that it was available. I saw a recommendation for it somewhere and for the life of me, I can’t remember where!!
THIS IS WHY I add books to my Amazon cart or want-to-read list or Pinterest board as soon as I see them. Otherwise I am very apt to forget about them and find myself racking my brain to remember THE NAME OF THAT BOOK I SAW AND WANTED TO READ!!!
I also picked up the other two Penderwick books at the library. So full of adventures! They make me smile.
Oh, and friends!! Two giveaways going on here at A Delightful Glow if you haven’t seen them.
One for the book, Unashamed. Go right here to enter.
And one for a bright flexi to add some color to your summer! Go here for that one.
Lysa Terkeurst’s new book, Uninvited is scheduled to come out in August. You can pre-order it now. I mentioned it last fall in this post.
The Best Yes has been one of my favorite reads. Lysa’s words encourage me.
My kid pick for the week.
Hurrah! Raggedy Ann.
This Raggedy Ann Read-Aloud Treasury looks like a neat book, too!
Awww. The Raggedys are so sweet.
{You can find one of my Raggedy Ann and Andy stories in this Yarn Along post.}
This is what Tucker has been reading.
Good ole Patrick F. McManus.
It’s A Fine and Pleasant Misery.
Every time Tucker relays part of a story to me or talks about reading these books he always, always refers to them as Patrick F. McManus. Always with the F. It makes me giggle.
Patrick F. McManus makes me giggle too. And sometimes chortle. Chuckle. Roar.
Whatcha reading or working on these summer days?
Enjoy July!!

Love your bright summery photos!! What a great color of yarn – so refreshing!
Thank-you! I agree. The yarn color feels cool for summertime. 🙂
Oh I just love love The Penderwicks! I just got the first on audiobook so that I can put it on in the car with my girls soon! Some of my favorite sweet books!
Oooo, audiobook?! My son would love that idea. He will read, but much prefers audiobooks so he can listen and build Legos or eat a snack at the same time. 🙂
I almost bought some of that yarn when I saw recently – it’s just so fresh and pretty! Seeing it in your photo tells me I was right about how pretty it is. 🙂
I have really enjoyed this yarn! It is bright and fresh. It seemed springy and now it feels cool for summer. 🙂
My daughter still has her Raggedy Ann on her bed at age 12 almost 13. She loved that book of stories when she was little and still tells our young day care kiddos that their dolls will sneak to the pantry for jam with Raggey while we are at the library. Love your photos on the front porch! The best summer spot.
That’s so fun! 🙂 Raggedy Ann is so cheery!
I’ve always loved porches and I’m so grateful for ours.
Love the flexi!
Thank-you! I love my flexis! 🙂
Ah, what memories when I hear the name McManus! Although I’m not used to the middle initial in his name! Only Tucker would do that! Makes me laugh just like the books always did.
I know! It’s so great!
