Look who popped in for today’s Yarn Along!
Raggedy Ann and Andy!
These dolls have a story.
I’ll let them tell it.
……………………………….
Hello! We’re the Raggedys! A long, long time ago an auntie picked up her yarn and pattern and began to work on a project for a gift for her niece for Christmas. She picked out a white yarn and blue yarn and black yarn and peachy-skin colored yarn. And, of course, red yarn! She needed it so she could give us wonderful shaggy, red hair once we were completed. She worked and worked and her crochet hook made stitch after stitch and we began to take shape. Two doll bodies and pantaloons and dress and pinafore and overalls and hat all crafted from her busy fingers. We were excited when she put our eyes on and we could see each other! Our eyes twinkled merrily and we gave each other a thumbs up about how terrific our red hair was! When this auntie had finished every last stitch and tied everything off and we were dressed and done, she tucked us into a box and wrapped it up, ready for Christmas!
Christmas and celebration came and our box was toted around a few times, and then we held our breath expectantly. We could hear the paper ripping and hear rustling sounds and then light streamed in as our box was opened! There was the auntie’s niece with delight written across her face! She pulled us out and hugged us tightly. We were delighted too. For quite a few years, we sat in the corner on a shelf in our girl owner’s room. We would come down often and play with her. We had a lot of fun and adventures!
This girl continued to grow and one day a charming young man from Kansas captured her heart and she married him and moved. And we moved too. Then these couple-of-young-kids-themselves had a couple of babies. We got to sit on another shelf in these babies’ room. We had new adventures with our girl’s babies!
They grew older too, but our “mama” tucked us away on a comfy closet shelf and we cozied down for a while.
One day, there she was digging us out. What was going to happen now?!
We didn’t have to wait long to find out.
Lo and behold, the auntie who had picked yarn and crocheted away was now a grandma. And she had a granddaughter and a grandson and they had a mama and their mama had decorated their room with Raggedy Ann and Andy decor.
Now, our girl owner {all grown up, at least in body} still loved us a lot and wasn’t going to just cast us out any ole where! But she knew we were just hanging out on a shelf and she knew the other mama and her children would really enjoy us Raggedys, especially since their Grandmama had made us. So, she pulled us out and she fluffed us up a bit and got us ready to make the trip to another new home! Once again we were excited to see what adventures would await!
And we’ve had so much fun with the auntie’s granddaughter!!
We love being loved!

It’s Baby Dear!
Just another favorite of favorites when it comes to Little Golden Books. Just love this one so much.
LOOK!!!!
Progress from last week….
I finished my dishcloth from last week. I was sorta surprised. I haven’t been knitting much. I thought we might have to just look at the same dishcloth for several weeks. They can go fast and I had a chance to pick up my needles and, therefore, we are finished!
Just a bit on purple started…..
Books.
I have several started. I’m still just reading them here and there and whatever appeals to me at the time.
The above one is You’re Going to Be Ok by Holley Gerth. Her books are lovely. She’s such an encourager.
Still reading through these too. Enjoying them. And giving me much to meditate on and consider and pray about!
What are you reading or crafting?
