Ten on Tuesday! Linking up with Carole ~
TODAY, we’re talking about things to do and listen too!
Here we go……………..
1. Build something out of Legos. This had to be my first thing-to-do because there have been LITERAL HOURS of Lego building and audio listening done in this house. My kiddos have been doing this since they were very young.
Over in this post, 7 Summertime Activities for Kids, audiobooks happen to be the first thing on the list! 🙂
2. Knit. Of course.
3. Wash dishes. Wipe down counters. Whip kitchen into shape. {Knitting is more fun.}
4. Fold laundry. This is something else that has been done in duo with audio a LOT in our home. Tucker often listens to Adventures in Odyssey online during laundry folding.
5. Turn one on and listen away while driving to appointments or running errands.

6. Grocery shopping. I’ve read of people doing this. They listen to an audiobook on their iPod while they shop. I personally don’t think I could do this. I wouldn’t get much out of it, because I have to use mental effort to get the things on my list!
7. Craft. Play an audio while you worked on a paper craft or make pom-poms or put together a wreath!
8. Food Fixing. Mix up a batch of monster cookies or stir up some strawberry jam or make food for the freezer. This provides handy time to catch up on that favorite audiobook.
9. Lay in the hammock on a lazy summer day. Close your eyes and float away with the story.
10. Weeding your roses or flowerbeds or garden. Grab your iPod again and you’re good to go.
BONUS: 11. Walking, riding bike or working out. Once again a perfect time!
A few of my kiddos favorite audios have been Anne of Green Gables, Uncle Rick Reads, Little Women, Narnia, and Farmer Boy.

I couldn’t do grocery shopping either while listening to an audio book. I would get too distracted! Great list!
Yes, my mind can only handle so many things at once! 🙂
I love #9! From reading everyone’s answers, I now want a swing and a hammock!
It does that to you, huh?! 🙂
I don’t think I could grocery shop and listen either…tho’, I might give it a try.
You’ll have to let me know if it works! 🙂
If I’m grocery shopping and in a hurry listening isn’t a good thing, but if I’m meandering on a weekend I love having a book or podcast to listen to.
I can definitely see that it would work if you are meandering and shopping!
