Three of my favorite things about the Christmas season are the cozy, twinkly lights, pretty packages wrapped in crisp paper, and the shimmery colors and sparkle!
All these things speak to sensory appeal for me and add elements of beauty and joy to my life.
I love how so many of the Christmas pieces can and do symbolize what Christ is or has done for me, what Christ can do for others through me, and what Christ wants in my life.
The evergreen speaks of life and growing and continued steadfastness.
The star shines and speaks of light and direction. For wisemen from the first Christmas and for me today in my life if I will choose to be a wise {wo}man too.
The Nativity, of course, tells the story of baby Jesus. Greatest gift and gift to all. Perhaps, softened and given a nostalgic shine in comparison to the roughness of wood and manger and straw and stable and new life entering this world. Yet, the Best Story Ever!

Pretty packages speak of gifts and giving in this season and in everyday living. They tell of caring and time given to choose gifts and wrap them up with love and pretty paper.
I love decorating my home with touches of Christmas and celebrating and remembering my Jesus.
