I gaze upon the manger, I gaze upon the tree,
I gaze upon the twinkle lights, they sparkle shine at me,
I notice the sweet shadow of the star upon the wall,
The light and glitter fuse and gleam and make the stardust fall,
Clear glass bulbs reflect and glow and beauty they proclaim,
Gold and silver, red and green, speak beauty just the same,
The shine, the sparkle, steadfast green, the lights that glow and glow,
Together tell a story fresh, yet happened long ago,
They speak of Light Who never dims, of David’s Star Who shone,
Of beauty in the Shepherd King who welcomes each one home,
The glisten sign strung down below, it pulses to my soul,
Shine light for Him! Do good for Him! For He has made me whole!
I celebrate this baby! My Jesus! King and Light!
My heart is His and I am His. He is my sweet delight.
I gaze upon the soothing shine, I gaze upon the tree,
Reach out and brush a finger soft across Nativity,
I gaze upon that manger and whisper up a prayer,
I owe it all, I give my all, to the baby Who laid there.
Thank-you, Jesus!
