Linking up with Ginny and Frontier Dreams.
There were a variety of books scattered here and there around our house, I noticed.
I picked up my camera and snapped some frames.
Miss Renae has been lingering in the pages of Anne of Ingleside and running down to Rainbow Valley with Anne’s dear children.
Various schoolbooks spread out across the ottoman.

Some new yarn!
We went to the city and scoured garage sales last week. We had a very fun day. The weather was gorgeous for one thing.
It was a good day to be OUT and ABOUT.
We made a couple of other stops in the city and I discovered a darling, little yarn shop!
Here’s a picture I took of it and shared on Instagram.
I wanted to try making some teeny-tiny baby socks, so I found yarn and needles at the shop for my project.
These are my kid pick this week in books!
I found them both at one of the garage sales we went to.
My mother-in-law has both these old books and my kiddos loved listening to them at Grandma’s.
I’m always so delighted to find old, favorite books to add to our collection.
In the back of my head, I’m thinking that someday I will turn one of our upstairs rooms into a library room.
But don’t worry, I’m not pushing my kiddos out the door yet, by any means! 🙂
In One Kitten for Kim, Kim is supposed to find homes for all the kittens but one. He does a very good job at this. He’s finding them wonderful homes! But as he does, he is also accumulating quite a menagerie of other animals!
Oh my!
Oh no! The wind has taken Farmer Brown’s big, round, brown hat and rolled it right away! Will Farmer Brown discover where it has gone?
Read Who Took the Farmer’s Hat to find out!
I talked about Fervent in this post and this post.
I’d checked it out from our library when I happened to see it there.
Over the weekend, a friend and I went to get pedicures and we dropped into a couple of shops. We went into Family Christian and I grabbed my own copy to add to my personal library. {Don’t worry. I paid for it.}
This big spool of yarn has been part of my decor. It looked so bright and lovely and springy I started in on a dishcloth with it. I have a dark green dishcloth going as well, but somehow the dark yarn was just not doing anything for me! Ha!
Oh, and did you see my beautiful pillow in this photo? I’m loving it so much! It’s from my sister’s shop, if you haven’t ever seen her creations before. THIS is her blog and THIS is her Instagram. They’re both beautiful places to browse, BELIEVE me!! {Believe me, even though I totally messed up the spelling of believe as I was trying to type it out.}
Baby socks.
SOOOO, I was all excited, BeCauSe I started on a baby sock. And it was just a buncha fun to work on.
I worked a ways.
It was coming and appearing.
Then I did a messup.
And I ripped a whole bunch out.
That’s all that’s left.
I’m starting over.
YET, I learned and gained some experience and I’m anxious to give it another go.
Handy TIP:
Read directions carefully.
Somehow I interpreted the directions as knit 3 together, instead of knit 3.
There’s a difference. It will mess you up.
I heard it through the grapevine.
If you’re looking for a baby sock pattern, you can find this one on Ravelry here.
In other news, I reorganized some of my knitting tools into this bag yesterday.
It’s making me all kinds of happy.
I love my bags from Thirty-One.
I’d used this one for some Lilla Rose stuff, but wasn’t currently using it and the brilliant idea came to me, that it might JUST BE PERFECT for knitting needs.
I tucked in place markers and crochet hook and Lilla Rose flexis for yarn project holders and scraps of yarn and little scissors and a few other thisses and thats.
Here’s what it looks like all closed up and hanging from a glass doorknob.
Because I’m sure someone was wondering what it would look like if it was closed up and hung on a glass doorknob.
Now isn’t your day just brighter and better since you’ve browsed books, yarn and bags?! Of course, it is!

hehehe, i enjoyed reading, you make it fun!! such a pretty yarn shop, they are pretty hard to come by in my neck of the woods. i am an organizing fanatic, so yup, i get it!!!! oh and pretty yarns, cute little sock. i have never knitted a sock!!!
I’ve not knitted socks before either, The darling, tiny baby socks fascinate me and looked fun to try, besides the fact that it isn’t a large or long project. Well, it may be long!! Depends how many times I have to start over! 🙂
Yes!! My day is brighter after reading this. I like seeing your projects of yarn and all your books. The 31 bag looks perfect for knitting paraphernalia. Maybe I need one! Hope your baby sock project goes better now.
I love my 31 bags. It’s really a cosmetic bag, but it works great for organizing.
I’m anxious to find some time to try the sock again. It was taking shape and it will be fun to hopefully end up with a finished project.
Who Took the Farmer’s Hat is a big favorite in our house! I have it memorized!!
How fun! I remember having some of my kiddos’ favorites practically memorized. 🙂
I had to smile. I received the book, One Kitten for Kim, when I was four years old. In fact, I still have the book. Your yarn is so colorful. I like that. 🙂
That’s so special! I have a few books from my childhood, too.
I like colorful yarn as well. Part of what make yarn so fun!
