Hello friends!
It is July 15th.
That means July is half over.
Well, not quite! Since it has 31 days.
But too close for my liking! π
Here’s what I wore for our fourth-of-July gathering.
Knit stripey skirt ~
t-shirt with a pop of color~
my favorite lightweight gray sweater ~ {I showed it a couple of weeks ago in this Wardrobe post}
Flip-Flops ~ one of my favorites from Crocs
And if you missed last week’s post, it shows the shirt Renae made for the fourth.
I fastened this necklace from Creative Carmella around my neck! She’s one of my favorites! You really must follow her on Instagram! π
You can see a couple of my other pieces from her in this post and in this post my niece is wearing one of her necklaces.
Of course, a flexi!
I find myself twisting my hair up a lot during hot weather.
This danglie Star flexi was a previous flexi-of-the-month.
I like the big star.
Renae was using the heart July flexi in last week’s post.
I shared a quote on facebook this week that said, “Sometimes you need to talk to a three-year-old, so you can understand life better.”
Isn’t that the truth?!
I plan to talk to one today. My nieces are coming over. It’s been too long since we’ve seen them. They farm too and harvest has kept us hopping. Throw in everyday life, company for both of us and a whole lotta days flow by before you know it!
Yesterday morning it was raining. It was an absolutely gorgeous rain!! It came straight down in an easy, gentle way. I love these types of rain. It often blows and storms here in Kansasland to produce rain. I chatted with a friend a bit yesterday and she mentioned that she also liked it when it rains during the day sometimes instead of at night. Our storms often brew up in the evening. I agreed with her. She added that daytime rain makes the house cozy and it is fun to watch the rain. So true!
I’d planned to go get some groceries yesterday morning. Since it was wet out, we all loaded up and headed to town. We swung by the library and the kiddos dashed in. An SUV soon pulled in beside us and its passengers began to embark. A mama and several children were headed into the library. I watched as two tiny tots got out and put up a tiny umbrella with princesses on it. They crowded together under the wavering umbrella. It was so fun to watch. It made me laugh out loud as they wended their way to the library door. They kept carefully together just underneath their plastic protection. They just fit.
I told my husband, “I bet they are totally thrilled and their day is completely made because THEY GOT TO USE THEIR UMBRELLA to go in the library!” The smallest things delight small people. They looked very much like they could have been three-year-olds. The wisdom you can learn from three-year-olds!
Have a happy Friday and a blessed weekend! I hope it includes a three-year-old.

Alas! No three year-olds here. πͺ But I love them, too. So fun to hear their take on life. And most times there’s lots to be learned from them. I loved the picture you painted of the two wee girls sharing an umbrella. Moments making memories.
We had a fun afternoon with our three-year-old and one-year-old! We didn’t have any umbrellas, but we did have a fish floatie and a fun time splashing in the pool. AND I found out that Miss A. does not have an umbrella. I’m sure that must be remedied. π
So cute! You look so pulled together but very comfortable.
Well, that’s very sweet of you to say, Laura. Thank-you for your kind words.
I could be wearing a black garbage sack and you would find something nice to say about it! π π
Cute! I like the pops of colour under the cardigan.
