Today we’re musing about what we do to beat the heat!
Linking up with Carole ~
I love summertime.
Yes, it’s hot. So hot sometimes.
If we didn’t have air conditioning, I probably wouldn’t love it as much.
That’s one way I beat the heat!! Staying inside, listening to my air conditioner unit waft cool air up and through my vents. I’m so grateful!!
We also hang out in our cool basement a lot.
Water. That’s my next thing. Drinking it. Watching it. Swimming in it.
I love to see the sprinkler spraying up water. Yes, from inside my air-conditioned kitchen! 🙂
I have a vent that blows air out on my feet when I stand at the kitchen sink. I love, love, love having it there. Summer or winter!
Swimming. I’ve had wading pools and/or sprinklers for my kiddos to play in ever since they were little. We’re outgrowing much of that stage now, but they do still like to swim. We enjoyed going to a water park once or twice for a few summers. Great way to cool down! You’ll find a post over here about some of my favorite summertime activities for kids!
Icy drinks. That’s another fun summertime cool-off! I don’t know if it REALLY does, but it sure helps when you’re sipping away. Lemonade and sweet tea are such good summertime drinks! With the occasional Pepsi on crushed ice thrown in!
I enjoy going out in the late pre-dusk evening and watering my flowerpots and working in our garden spot for a bit. Technically, not beating the heat, but sort of in a round-about way! It’s so hot in the mid-afternoons, so early morning or late evening is the best time to catch some cool for outdoor chores. Our garden spot is shady and cooler in the evenings and it’s fun to look at the growing plants. {and ignore the grass that WILL grow where it’s not supposed to} The watering can water splashes a fresh drink to the flowerpots and is a refreshing enjoyment to me, too. As long as I have the time to keep them watered without getting rushed! Then watering flowerpots becomes one more thing on my to-do list! 🙂
Twisting my hair up in a flexi!
It helps me stay cool to gather my hair up in a ponytail or do a tails-up twist and quickly secure it with my trusty flexis! I love having them and having fun summertime styles!

Looking at old pics like this and remembering that winter will be here again ALL TOO SOON!!!! 🙂 🙂

Now it’s your turn! What helps you beat the heat?

That lemonade surely looks inviting…even the snow photo is cooling me off!
Isn’t it funny how snow photos really can do that? Ha! 🙂
