Last week I presented myself with Ten What-If questions and shared them for a Ten on Tuesday post.
Later in the day my phone chirped its incoming text alert. Words from my friend and cousin, Danita, sprang up on my phone screen. She told me she’d enjoyed the post very much and then she shared a list of ten what-ifs she’d been inspired to jot down.
I absolutely loved her list! I texted her right back, asking if I could share her words in a guest post here on my blog.
She kindly and graciously agreed.
Today we have ten more What-Ifs to consider! Read her words and be blessed!
1. What if I lived everyday expecting God to do miracles?
2. What if I told my husband something I respect about him every day?
3. What if I was quick to share what I liked about a situation instead of what I didn’t like?
4. What if I always loved people like Jesus does?
5. What if I truly prayed without ceasing?
6. What if I always looked for ways to serve instead of being served?
7. What if I smiled at & made eye contact with everyone I met?
8. What if I sought the Lord’s guidance in every situation I face?
9. What if we always offered praise to God for the things that happen in our lives, knowing that He sees the whole picture?
10. What if we never exercised in the Eeyore syndrome of being sure the worst possible was going to happen?

Which one speaks to you most?

#3 is a constant battle for me everyday. Why does being positive have to be such a struggle? #7 seems so easy buy yet we’re in such a hurry I hardly notice the elderly lady right next to me in the grocery store. What if, I made a more conscience effort to shine, to shine for Jesus?
Oh, I like your What If! It helps me when I remember that while I can’t do everything and I can’t help everybody, I can do something and I can smile at someone.
I don’t want to sound preachy or like I have it perfected….I don’t….a couple of things that I think help grow positivity are a gratitude journal and reading books in that area. A couple personal favorites are The Happiness Dare by Jennifer Dukes Lee and Choosing Gratitude by Nancy Leigh DeMoss. I have The Kindness Challenge by Shaunti Feldhaun but I haven’t read it yet. It focuses on looking for the positive and doing kind and positive things for others.
Praise the Lord for your cousin’s outlook on life. What if all of us had these intentions, and followed through with them. This is beautiful and I would love to share your blog on Joy In The Morning. This would be a much better world that we now live in where there seems to be so much dislike for everything.
I really loved this list!
It does seem like it’s easy for people to gravitate towards the gloomy and the negative, instead of counting our blessings!
I would be happy for you to link to my blog. Thank-you!
I will work on #1 and #2. I think it would be life changing around me and in my home.
Our attitudes, goals and words really do make a big impact on our life and the lives of those we love, don’t they?!
#1 and #5 – somehow I think they’re related.
Stopping by from #CoffeeForYourHeart Linkup
I’m glad you came by! Yes…they are related aren’t they?!
I try to incorporate all of these into my daily life. It’s not always easy, more of a work in progress. Great post!
Yes. Definitely a work in progress. Some days I feel like I’m starting all over again!! 🙂
I guess for me I can definitely improve in all of the above areas. How challenging! We have such a propensity toward the negative. I have learned to see the best in a situation and voice what I like but the rest of the list definitely needs a lot of work! I think it might be a good idea to do one at a time. Great list!
One at a time is a good idea! If I take on too much, I become overwhelmed and don’t end up doing much of any of it! 🙂
It’s not always easy, but I believe positivity greatly blesses our lives and changes them.
What a wonderful list! Thank you for sharing this. 🙂 I plan to pin it.
I loved her list, too! I’m so happy it blessed you. Have a happy week!
