Renae had this Cameo Appearance flexi in at the beginning of last week and I loved how it looked with her braid and her shirt.
Harvest kept on rolling. Peterbilt kept rolling.
For the most part.
Combine breakdown at the end of the week.
We encountered way too many ticks one night at the field. Tucker found six on himself and my cousin found five on one of her little boys and one on the other little guy! Yuck! They’d been running around in the tall, dry grass. {Thankfully it wasn’t an episode from the Croods, although ticks are plenty bad enough.}
I found this box of toothpicks in the Suburban. We bought them at the general store on our Hatteras trip. Made me a bit homesick for Hatteras and the ocean and our blessed week there. We had such a good time.
Campfire evening ~
It was a super fun evening with super yummy smores.
My week was full of cakes.
Apple cake over here….
My neighbor stopped by with a pan of brownies and a bottle of vanilla for me one afternoon. The brownies soon disappeared.
This was pretty much my kitchen all week.
We just lived among the crumbs and clutter and the littered lunchboxes and sticky spots. We carted gleaming Mason jars of tea to the field and hauled them home, empty and dirty and fingerprinted.
Airplane with working propeller from the erector set.
Tucker answered the phone on Friday and it was our local library calling for HIM. He won the reading program drawing this week and won a gift card. Woo-hoo!
There’s THAT KITTY!
Birthday party for Mom.
Beautiful birthday cake made by my talented sister-in-law!
Any use of the word darling in this week’s post was purely accidental. It was well enough used in last week’s post. Thank-you.
Although, come to think of it, those babies right above this are pretty darling!!!

I can’t think of any other word to better describe those two little munchkins than darling! Was the first time Gma got to see the littlest one? Love the pics of Renae.
Yes, it was. And she is the best baby. Very relaxed and laid back. So sweet!
The wheat makes such a great backdrop for pics! I still want family pics sometime ~ so hard…just too busy for a photo shoot!
We gave both two-year-olds rides in the combine. Was lots of fun!
