Here are three fun facts I posted on Instagram last week ~
1. Anablephobia is the fear of looking up.
2. Mozart was 4 or 5 years old when he created his first musical compositions.
3. Apples, peaches and raspberries are all members of the rose family.
What’s your fun fact of the day?

{Oh, fun facts aren’t part of your normal daily routine?! 😉😄😊
I recently finished Never Unfriended.
I have read and popped in and out of Lisa-Jo Baker’s blog and the (In)Courage website here and there over the last, oh, probably at least seven or eight years.
Never Unfriended opens its pages up to the wide world of friendship. I really enjoyed it. Some parts so resonated with me. Some didn’t. I expected that. Very typical. I believe we all relate to emotions and experiences, yet we all live individual and unique stories. That in turn offers opportunities when we say, “YES! Me too!” and times when our experience is completely different.
Never Unfriended made me deeply thankful for the many good friends and friendships I’ve had and have in my life.
It made me look more closely at myself and the way I could be a better friend.
It also made me stop and think about how much of a friend my husband is to me and how much I want to bless him as, not only my husband, but as a friend.
And even though I’m super thankful for my husband and his friendship, I also believe it’s very beneficial to have girl friends. We females understand things and connect over things that aren’t always in a man’s sphere or on his interest list. Good friends champion each other, encourage each other, cheer each other on. In our marriages, in our jobs, in our parenting, in our struggles and hard places.
We don’t need a huge circle either. Personally, I don’t believe it’s possible to keep up with a large number of people all the time. I also believe life has seasons. I have long-time friends and I have friends who were there during a certain season.
Our girl friends may be our daughters or our mothers or our neighbors. They may be our cousins or our-best-friend-since-first-grade. They may be the girl we met last month or the one we never thought we’d get to know very well and then, looking back, this friendship grew and bloomed while I was unaware of its quiet happening.
We may have one or two or ten.
However it happens, friendship is a gift! Don’t we all long for that kindred spirit friend like Anne? And when we find her, we’ll know and we’ll know it’s a friendship worth going the extra mile for. It’s worth the effort and the sacrifice all relationships require.
Lisa-Jo has a term called Guilt-free friendship. I love it. I have several friends who have lived this out for me. I’m grateful.
You can go read Lisa-Jo’s description of guilt-free friendship right here.
The best theme or part of the book is that we all have a friend who will never unfriend us. People will fail us and disappoint us at times. But Jesus Christ never changes. He loves us all so much. And He can see every single one of our flaws and struggles. He is our Friend indeed.
Carry On Mr. Bowditch. I checked this biography out of our library when a friend mentioned it as one of her favorite books. I thoroughly loved reading it. Nathaniel Bowditch was a nautical wonder and mathematical wizard. So very fascinating!
Pink dishcloth! I knitted a tiny bit last week. I did some paper crafting and my knitting hasn’t been out much.
Still reading The Heart of Marriage.
Last week I showed you the hat. This week we managed to snap a few photos of my dear girl in her hat! She proclaimed it a Dr. Seuss story hat. 🙂
Renae has been reading my copy of Fervent. She mentioned that she’d like to have her own copy. I had a light bulb moment and went to look. Why yes! I thought I had a copy tucked away to use here as a giveaway or for a gift. Sure enough! I promptly gifted it to her. There isn’t anyone I’d rather give it too. I love the message of Fervent.
You’ll find posts about Fervent on my blog here and here.
You can purchase it on Amazon here.
Archie of Outlandish. I keep falling for this story more and more. The illustrations are beautiful. They’re drawn by Lynette Kraft’s daughter, Abigail Kraft.
Isn’t this door so pretty and inviting? I love the blue of the house.
My fun fact about anablephobia came from this book. 🙂
If you’re looking for a fun book with a library and children’s stories in it and a love story and super-fun characters, go for Archie of Outlandish. It’s fun!
Necessary Endings. I barely broke open the cover on this book this week. It’s been on my shelf for a while and I want to read it. It kept getting bumped back by other books. Plus, while I love the books by Dr.
Breaking Free. Renae and I started this study this week.
AND I have a tip for you. Date your Bible studies. Here’s why.
I’ve done this study before, but I can’t remember when and I wish I could. I think it was probably 2010-2011ish. It’s been a while. I’m looking forward to working through it again. I honestly don’t remember a lot of it. And I didn’t watch the videos the first time around and this time we are. I still have plenty of areas in my life that I want my Jesus to refine and free and remove the lies and baggage.
I remember thinking how fun it would be, someday, to work through a study with my daughter. She was only nine when I first started in-depth study books.
Now, here we are. This is at least the third one we’ve done.
What are you reading or what have you recently added to your want-to-read list?
