Another week…………..and more books, of course!
I started Love Does and All the Pretty Things.
I’m about to finish Love Does. It’s a super-easy read and it is fascinating.
I’ll admit that All the Pretty Things is a little bit of a hard read for me. It’s not really all that pretty of a childhood. I know it’s reality for too many people, but these kind of stories are hard for me. It isn’t always easy to step into someone else’s hurt. I haven’t finished it yet. And we certainly have a good God who is in the business of redeeming broken people and healing hurts. Hallelujah!
We all have hurts and aches and wounds no matter what our background or pedigree or family or station in life.
I’m so glad to know God cares and sees.
I’m almost to finish The Broken Way.
I’m still flipping through The Bookshop Book. I’ve ended up reading more of it than I thought I would. I thought I would browse through the pages quickly, but it’s been quite interesting. It shares bookshop stories and how they were founded and it shares the stories behind the booksellers. So fun!
My knitting! My stack of dishcloths for my friend, is slowly growing! {Handclaps!!}
These colors have been so fun!
I downloaded this book from Amazon.
Archie of Outlandish by Lynette Kraft.
Here’s the synopsis from the back of the book ~
Imagine living your entire life underneath umbrellas…
“Archibald Plumby lives happily in the picturesque coastal town of Outlandish. He has loving parents, eats fine food at his mother’s cliffside restaurant, and spends his days on the beach and in the town’s quaint streets, in search of stories to write for his job at the local paper.
There is just one thing that makes Archie’s life a little less than ideal… he’s never been able to look up without having a panic attack.
As he turns twenty, he begins to wonder if his peculiar fear of looking up will keep him from living the life he desires… particularly in the ways of love.”
I’ve read the first couple chapters. It’s very enchanting so far! I love having e-books on my phone, but I FORGET about them. I have some good books in e-book format. AND I’VE NEVER READ THEM. I forget about them AND I still love what I call “real” books. I love to pick up a book and flip the pages and “feel” it and it’s easier to hold. Plus, real books look so good on bookshelves and in stacks!
A very fun feature of the Archie of Outlandish e-book is the way the pages turn. When you swipe to go to the next page, the page does this little curl-thing and has more of a real-page-turning look about it. I love it! {I know. Crazy!! haha! But, it’s the details!}
I used to read Lynnette Kraft’s blog when she blogged. She was fun to read. I got to meet her at an (in)RL Meetup clear back in 2012. }You can read my post about it here.} Lynette is super-sweet and her family is a neat, artsy family.
I’ve also read her books He Heard Hannah and Ingrid.
Add them to your reading list if you’re looking for new suggestions! 🙂
I may have shared this book before for KID PICK. Nevertheless, it’s such a sweet book for littles!
It’s written in rhyme and the little fellow talks about sharing his toys with Jesus and showing Him around the house. Then it ends with sharing with others and that’s as if we’re sharing with Jesus.
To my dear friends and readers who read every blog post………..I want to tell you that I’m not going to be blogging as much for a few weeks here. I’ll be back!! But I wanted to at least say something for those of you who would notice. I’m finally feeling up to tackling some jobs that haven’t been done for a very long time around my home. Combine this with some other things and general life and it looked like it was time to take a bit of a blogging break.
And thank-you, dears, for reading my mumble-jumble of words, thoughts and expression and for the comments and emails you share with me. Blogging does take time. Yet, it’s something I’ve fallen for, though at times I’m not sure why!! 😉 Perhaps one reason is because I can “talk” and not bother someone. If you aren’t interested, you can click easily away! haha!! Another reason would be my blog is comfortable to me like my own home is. Groups and gatherings often aren’t comfortable for me and hold a lot more of “awkward.” There’s blessing and learning and growing in both the awkward and the comfortable. In the places where you reach out beyond yourself to others and in the places where you can lean back and rest in home and peace and solitude.
To you dear readers who pop by occasionally or have only stopped for the first! Thank-you! It’s fun to have you here as well.

Happy week to you ALL!!!

Bob Goff is my favorite! It might be time to reread Love Does, I could use a dose of his perspective.
He has a very easy style of writing! It inspires me to read other people’s stories and hear their perspectives on life and how their experiences have shaped them.
