Linking up with Ginny and Frontier Dreams and Life and Yarn!
I finished The Friends We Keep. It was an interesting read. I agreed with some of the ideas in it, while others I hadn’t experienced or didn’t feel like I related to. Have you read it? I’d love to hear your thoughts. I feel very blessed and grateful to God when I think about some of the very dear friends who have been part of my life.
Some friends have been part of my life for a certain season, but looking back I can see how God knew just what I needed at that time.
I started this golden dishcloth and I started just a row on my other fingerless mitt. I meant to get back to it. As you can see, I haven’t.
Our flexi giveaway ends tonight so you still have a few hours to enter! And starting Monday, several bloggers will be bringing together a Summer Blessing Giveaway! Stay tuned………………
I’ve been reading The Penderwicks. My husband was laughing at me the other evening when he found me tucked in bed reading about them. It’s been light and easy reading. Somehow it’s felt just right for summertime.
Children’s levels work well for me! 🙂
I picked up this crochet book back in the winter. A Hancock’s store was closing and all the prices were slashed. Trying out crochet truly is on my to-do list. It may stay on the list for a good while, but I do want to try!
I’ve loved working with the aqua yarn, but suddenly I was ready for a change.
I pulled out this bright pink.
Here’s my stack.
And one heart-shape, and I’m seriously thinking it may soon appear at my kitchen sink.
This study stack continues to be my focus for summer.
I’m a little behind in my Armor of God study and I’m hoping to get caught up this week.
And I honestly haven’t read anything in One in a Million for a bit here. I want to get back to it, too.
We’ve studied prayer. Buckled on the belt of truth. Fastened on the Breastplate of Righteousness. Laced up our Shoes of Peace and now we’re picking up our Shield of Faith.
We are becoming equipped.
You can still join in at the Lifeway Women Blog if you’d like.
I mentioned the Prince Warriors in this post. I’ve started listening to it in the car. It’s an intriguing tale. My listening has been hit and miss, since it’s when I’m out and about.
{Here’s a list of Ten Things To Do While Listening to an Audiobook!}
If you are interested in a study on 2 Timothy, if you pre-order an Entrusted workbook from Lifeway before August 15th, you will receive a free set of Scripture cards. This is a 5 week study by Beth Moore. Go over here if you are interested.
My kid pick!
I loved the Bobbsey Twins.
Dr. Funnybone’s Secret was one of my favorites.
Did you/Do you read Bobbsey Twins?
I was going to ask did you read Bobbsey Twins when you were a kid and then I decided I’d better change it, seeing as how I’m currently reading a children’s book to myself and all. Ahem. {totally enjoying it, too.} {thank-you very much.} 🙂 🙂 🙂
I still break out Jane of Lantern Hill now and then, too.
What are YOU reading right now?? I DO need some more ideas to add to my want-to-read list. {Stack waiting in the wings not-withstanding.}

I had the entire set of Bobbsey Twins books when I was a kid – they were originally my mother’s. I’d totally forgotten about them, but I remember reading through them one winter in Pittsburgh. Also, I have the same Bible 🙂
What a fun collection! And I love that they were your mother’s books originally.
Oh, what fun! I’m glad you mentioned that you have the same Bible. I’ve had it for probably close to seven years now and I really like it. I have a couple others I use some, but this one is my favorite.
The knit heart is just precious!!! It is a great idea for small gifts!
Thank-you! The hearts are fun to do. I know I linked to the pattern in a previous Yarn Along. I think it came from Ravelry. I don’t make the hearts as often as my go-to dishcloth pattern, just because it takes a bit more thinking and paying attention to the pattern.
They are fun to stick in gifts. I have a couple of friends who I know really like the dishcloths and that’s fun because it’s something I can always add to a gift for them.
I read childrens books pretty frequently, as I’m a teacher…but when people ask me what my favorite book is, I always reply The Secret Garden…then it was Eight Cousins, a lesser known Lousia May Alcott…although I haven’t read it in a million years…I did visit one of her homes a few summers back…where she wrote Little Women…
I love Little Lord Fauntleroy by Frances Hodges Burnett.
I’m not sure I’ve read Louisa Mae Alcott’s Eight Cousins. If I have, it’s been years ago. How neat to visit her home! We have Little Women on an audiobook and my children have listened to it so many times. 🙂
When I was young, I had my dad’s original set of Bobbsey Twins…I LOVED them! Wish I still had them. Sometimes its fun to revisit an old favorite!

Visiting from Yarn Along
Oh, that sounds like an awesome set! I wish you still had them too. 🙂 So glad you came by.
