Ten on Tuesday!
Today’s topic……………………………Ten of the Best Things I Did in November!
Linking up at Carole Knits….
First, I must strain my brain and think back and ask myself, “What DID I do in November?” Ha!
Here we go. Some highlights in no particular order.
……………………………………………………
1. Β Making these fun acorn cookies!
2. My sister and her family here to visit for Thanksgiving!
3. Celebrating three of our nieces’ birthdays! We are blessed with seven nieces. Not a single nephew among them. π
4. Fixing Thanksgiving dinner. It is a bit of work, but I have favorite recipes I like to make and I love to have the leftovers.
5. Attending a Craft Show Vendor event with my Lilla Rose the Saturday after Thanksgiving! My sister from Sew a Fine Seam took her gorgeous handmade pillows and set up too! It was fun, despite the icy weather outside and SMALL crowd that attended.
6. A day in the city with my guy and my sister and her guy. Our kiddos aren’t toddlers anymore!!! They stayed home and cared for themselves. I still find myself turning around wondering how we got to this stage so quickly. Yet, there are many things about it that I love. No wrestling car seats is definitely one of the things to love! In my book, anyway! Back to our city day ~ We ate good food ~ Chick-Fil-A and Texas Roadhouse ~ {a dear friend over-gifted me with a Texas Roadhouse giftcard as a thank-you for a {very small} favor I did for her} {she’s the best} {and not just because of the gift card π } ~ We shopped ~ We joked and laughed ~ We went to World Market and Target and Β to two Hobby Lobbys ~ We went to some motorcycle shops and looked at all the pretty, shiny paint and chrome ~ I had a return at Old Navy and ran into Bed, Bath and Beyond for a couple of things ~ We Christmas shopped ~ It was a leisurely day ~ and then we were tired and we collapsed into the van for the return trip and arrived HOME AGAIN!!
7. Reading books. November was a terrific book month. I really want to blog about if if I get a chance!! And an off-topic, random detail…I’ve typed November quite a few times this month. And somehow it seems to tangle me up and stumble me and I add extra e’s and b’s in wrong places. And my spellcheck underlines it in red and would double and triple underline it if it could. These growing-up kiddos also means a gettin-oldah mama as well!
8. Knitting these leaves. Well, most of them I really made at the end of October. But this wool one I did in November. You can see them in this post.Β I have another one started and it has languished on my needles for close to a month now. All those good books and other things happening! π
9. Making cut-out cookies with my kiddos and making pies for Thanksgiving. I like to make pies. I wouldn’t want to bake them in large numbers for a bakery, but I enjoy the process of putting one together.
10. Sipping hot drinks. I tried this Pear Cider and I think it’s quite tasty.
There is a Christmas Blessing Giveaway for $400 PayPal cash that started yesterday, if you want to pop over here to enter!
Isn’t it nice when the kids are old enough to stay home? Adult time is nice once in a while!
I agree! It is!
