Hello to memories made!
Last week started out with our beautiful fall weather continuing on and ended with winter debuting in a very real and icy way!
We had a good week.
We crafted.
We made treats and cooked.
We baked pies.
We pulled out all the favorite recipes.
We snuggled this baby.
We gave thanks.
We made pumpkin, blueberry and apple pie.
I also made Salted Pecan Bourbon Pumpkin Pie. It was a new recipe that caught my eye and looked fun to try. It was tasty, but I still like my old, favorite recipes better. It had molasses in the pecan part and molasses is not my favorite. It was still fun to try it and it makes a beautiful pie. The colors catch the essence of autumn so well.
We lit candles. Gingerbread from JIC! Mmmm. Come on over to JIC and browse all the yummy candles. They have a special today for Cyber Monday. BUY 2 GET 1 FREE on select scents!
We hooked up a generator.
Our electric was out for 12 hours on Friday.
Brrr. CHILLY.
Sew a Fine Seam came to my living room! Hooray!
I was planning to set up at a local craft show with my Lilla Rose on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. This was my third year to attend this event with my flexis.
When my sister told me they were coming to see us for Thanksgiving, I said, “Hey! Want to go to a vendor event with me?”
She said, “Sure!”
She sewed and prepped pillows and bags and t-shirts and packed it all up to head west.
When we visited my husband’s brother in eastern KS a couple of weeks ago, we spent Saturday in Kansas City. I went to Ikea and picked up the feather pillow forms my sister uses for her pillows, so she wouldn’t need to haul them out here and could just bring the covers and stuff them when she got here.
Her booth at the show was so cute! We had fun setting everything up, DESPITE the ice and wintery conditions.
We had a fun day at the show too. Unfortunately, the crowd was a very slim one. The weather affected it big time. BUT, it WAS slick out and definitely not the best time to be out and about.
I was excited to show my sister’s stuff to Kansas! It didn’t turn out like I was hoping with the weather conditions, but she sold some pillows anyway! One of her best customers was one of my friends who didn’t even attend the show!! 🙂 🙂 How great is that!! My friend saw pictures on fb, that another one of her friends posted, and texted me about the pillows she wanted.
A bit of my Lilla Rose…..
and an above view of JIC candles!
See? CUTEST set up!! Love it.
Our awesome helper girls!!! It was a fun day and good memories.
We also did some shopping. My sister and I and R&E ate lunch at the local Family Food Store. We played pool. We watched football. We watched Inside Out. Cute movie! We did laundry. We walked in the woods. We slid on the ice. We spent a day in the city. We played Minecraft. We read books. We blogged. We took naps. We did dishes. We set up a Lego city. The Playmobil came out and spent time with my youngest niece! We drew pictures and set up art shops. Grandma needed to be closer! We moved equipment and got things inside and situated for the upcoming winter weather forecast. We brought in outdoor chairs and moved things in from the porch. My sister came bearing gifts, so now I want to get some photos of some of the fun, new things!
A few of the bits and pieces caught and remembered from our week………..

Sounds like a fun, full week. And the art shops! And I missed them! ?
It was! It sped by!
Perhaps at Christmastime there will be art shops! 😉 Especially, should you drop a hint or two.
