Hey friends! What are you looking forward to this week? I’ve told Matthew several times how strange I find it for this year to feel loooong in some ways, yet at the same time here we are closing July out already!
I’m quite delighted to bring you a giveaway today for a new Bible study book. Moody Publishers sent me a copy of 7 Feasts by Erin Davis AND they’re graciously giving one away for us too! You can enter the giveaway below.
Study books work for me. I know it’s not for everyone. Different learning styles and different relating styles mean different things resonate with each person. I like workbooks. I like pondering and considering the questions. I like writing in answers and writing out Scripture. I like the directed study and using it as a springboard.
My ideal day, and many of my days, begin with my Bible, a study book, pens and markers, and a delicious mug of coffee. {Used to be hot chocolate before I graduated to coffee drinking.}
One of my favorite delightful things so far this year has been making lattes using our Aeropress Coffee Maker. I ordered it and a coffeebean grinder the end of April as a joint anniversary gift for us! 🙂 I thought this was a clever idea, actually. Haha! My sister and niece recommended the Aeropress to me. I have absolutely loved it and haven’t looked back once. Pouring coffeebeans in the grinder, boiling water, breathing in the aroma of the freshly ground coffee, making a shot of espresso. It’s been therapeutic to me!!!! 🙂
When my kiddos were younger and shorter, we did some reading and studying about the feasts as part of our homeschool one year. We used the book A Complete Guide to Celebrating our Messiah in the Festivals. It was a neat book. It included recipes and activities for each. We did a few of them and enjoyed learning a bit more about them. My kiddos were young, so there’s a fair chance I found it more fascinating than they did, 😉 but all the same, it was interesting.
7 Feasts is an eight-week study. Each week has five lessons.
Week One is called The Cure For Spiritual Amnesia.
Each of the remaining seven weeks takes one feast and studies through it.
Each day begins with Scripture reading. Each day also has a Big Idea listed under the title of the day’s lesson.
For example, Week 2 Day 4 is called
Born Again
Big Idea: The Passover tells the story of re-birth.
Scripture reading ~ John 3:1-8
This particular lesson looks in Exodus at each of the plagues and provides space to record each one. It continues on to read Exodus 14 and record highlights of what happened after the Israelites fled Egypt. Then it hops over to Nicodemus and considers rebirth. The lesson closes up in 1 Peter 1:3-9 and meditates on this question. “What hope do we have in Jesus as born-again children?“
7 Feasts is a thick study book and I’m looking forward to working through it. I love how the Bible carries through a thread and a theme of God’s love and desire for relationship with us. Praise His Name!
Enter below if you’d like a chance to win a copy of this study.
I hope your day and week are especially delightful, comrade friends!

I’m thankful for my family’s health, our home and the wonderful outreach of our church.
A beautiful list!
I’m grateful for Jesus’ help everyday in my life, for my family and friends, and for books and exercise. I have too many items to only list three 🙂
Yes! I know exactly what you mean about stopping at three. 🙂
