Hey friends! I’ve been wanting to show you this super-fun new book from KariAnne Wood!
The DIY Home Planner!!!! *drumroll* *handclaps* *armpump* *fistbump* *fanfare* *and so on and so forth*
I had the opportunity last summer to join in on the launch team for KariAnne’s book, So Close to Amazing. It was one of my top ten favorite books I read last year.
Of course, I was all manner-and-sorts-and-kinds of excited when the announcement about this planner showed up and I’m equally as thrilled to join in on the launch team for it.
{Find KariAnne’s blog, Thistlewood Farms, here.}
I have a bunch of fun photos of it for you. I’ve been sharing sneak peeks of it now and then on my Instagram stories if you’re able or want to catch them over there.
This planner is a completely fun combination of words and inspiration and beautiful sketches and real life photographs and colors and pages and tips and ideas for making your home YOURS!
Here’s the back cover ~
There’s also a couple of DIY projects included. {KariAnne is a DIY rockstar!}{You’ll want to sit beside her.}{And laugh with her.}
This Origami bookmark is included in your planner.
Chit-chat about color and a handy color wheel page to use for reference ~
There’s also a few pages you can tear out and frame for instant art!
This is the dedication page and I really love the words KariAnne used and her dedication and description. I suppose I should have put this picture at the top of the post since it’s at the beginning of the book, but that’s probably what people would be expecting, so instead I use long run-on sentences and put the picture here in the middle of the post. Not really on purpose, but because that’s how it turned out. Ha!
There’s a sturdy pocket flap on the inside cover AND the back cover to tuck in fabric scraps and notes and paint strips and any and all lists you want to keep handy for your home and projects. I love this detail and idea for the book.
Look at the front nameplate page!!! I love how it says, This House Belongs to: ____________.
Here’s our table of contents! Look at all the color!!!
These little inspiration cards are tucked onto the pages here and there throughout the planner.
Room to sketch and draw and place your furniture etc in your room. The back of the planner contains a page of furniture cut-outs to try out different layouts.
These pages let you play around with pattern ideas and mixing and matching. Once again you’ll find a pull-out and cut-out page in the back of the planner to get you started!
Keep an eye out for fun finds at yard sales, flea markets and second hand stores!
I’ve loved flipping through this planner, reading tips, and jotting down notes here and there for myself and my HOME!
In summary, you could pretty much say I LOVED THE PLANNER. If you count, I used “I love/loved” quite a few times in my rambles and descriptions of this so-much-fun planner. {That I love.} 😉
There are pre-order bonuses and lots of fun stuff over at the DIY Home Planner’s website. Hop over and check them out!

Order the book here on Amazon or at other various booksellers and sign up for your pre-order bonuses here!
In other fun news, it was SEVENTY-FIVE degrees here today and I opened my front door and listened to my windchimes chime lightly in through the screen!

I would keep it for myself and then gift to my sister when I am done with it. I know it will not be new to her but hoping that some parts will be good for her.
What a fun idea! It’s fun to look through and read the ideas no matter when you get it. 🙂
