Look at this cute lil’ notepad from The Clever Clove! It makes me smile just to look at it.
THINGS to do BEFORE I CAN READ
Isn’t it great?! Hmmmm. I have a feeling this to-do list may stay pretty blank most of the time. Haha! I assume the incentive would be to USE the list and cross off the chores as quickly as possible so one could then bury one’s nose in said book.
Dishcloths continue to live on my knitting needles. I did something a little wonky on this cream one at the beginning, because it has a funny little bumpy-out-of-shape on the corner. I’m guessing I inadvertently reduced my row.
I’m also excited this week to learn about an upcoming deluxe edition of Gracelaced book by Ruth Chou Simons this September. It’s going to be gorgeous. She also has a Bible study on Colossians coming in November from Lifeway. I’m delighted about both!
Linking up with Ginny and Frontier Dreams!
Live Loved ~ this devotional book by Max Lucado has been encouraging me. I often need reminders of how much I am loved by God, I am chosen by Him, and I am His child.
In a FB group I’m in, a member shared she was a new believer. She asked for recommendations for Bible studies, groups, and ways to begin learning and growing in Christ. I hope she wasn’t overwhelmed with the many responses she received! 🙂 I left a short comment with a few names from among my many favorites. Max Lucado was one of them with his gentle, real, and encouraging voice.
I’ve been using this prayer journal this year. I can’t remember if I’ve shared it with my ADG comrades or not!
It has a monthly layout with format for different areas and concerns in your life, pages to journal prayers in the middle, and gratitude pages in the back.
It’s a beautiful book and I like the heavy duty spiral. I really like spiral-bound journals and their ability to open up flat.
Oh, new for July! Branwyn flexi! A beautiful branch with leaves to attach charms to. How fun is this?! Find charms here.
Our Lilla Rose July special is a surprise gift with $60 orders.
Flexis have power beyond great hair accessories!!! 🙂 They hold knitting needles and yarn together. They are beautiful as a scarf clip! They’ll do double duty as napkin holders or curtain tiebacks. Versatility must be their middle name. 😉
If you’re new to Lilla Rose, swing by this page. I’m hoping to do a flexi giveaway in the next couple of weeks! It’s been a while!
LOVE our leather 8’s!
I love having a few flowerpots around in the summer to add beauty and bright spots of color. I’m afraid I’m killing one off already. I think it may have been waterlogged. We had a lot of rain and it sat in standing water and is looking rather bedraggled and forlorn now. I really need a gardener to keep everything beautiful, gorgeous, and growing for me!
I had markers and pens slung across the table the other morning as I spent some time reading, meditating, and Bible journaling. The colors and variety caught my eye as a photographic moment! 🙂
I’ve been asking myself this question, inspired from Your Blue Flame by Jennifer Fulwiler.
What did I do today to add beauty to the world?
I opened the cover on a stripey journal/notebook and began making a list, adding a few lines each day or every couple of days.
A little like a gratitude list or a grace list, but in an outward, others-facing way.
I believe we can each add beauty to the world every day from the mundanest thing to the magnificent and mighty.
My farmer man has been spending hours in his combine reaping the harvest. He hauled cattle to the sale barn a few weeks ago. It’s a service of producing food, not only for our family, but others.
I’ve been brewing gallon after gallon of iced tea on these hot Kansas days. My farmer and our son, find a full pitcher of iced tea glistening in the refrigerator, a very beautiful thing. {Hop here for a bit of fun about feeling as if all I do is make another gallon of iced tea. 😉 }
These last couple of months, UPS and FedEx have brightened many a people’s day and doorstep.
Local greenhouses have multiplied beauty for us with succulents, flowers, and vegetables this spring.
The ways are endless.
From speaking up for the oppressed to feeding babies who need dressed to serving sandwiches on a tray or taking time to laugh and play, sending greetings in the mail or visiting people in the jail, hugging friends, waving hi, offering comfort for the sigh.
Asking, “How for you can I pray?” Singing loud, “This is the day.” Fresh scrubbed floors, sorted drawers, tidying up, completing chores,
fizzy pop over ice, chocolate cookies, warm and nice,
Subway sandwich wrapped up tight, tacos from Taco Delite, made by servers hard at work, beef and bacon, chicken, pork.
Prescriptions filled. Fillings filled. Buildings framed. Insurance claimed. Rest home workers, Nurses too, So many, many things we do. Billions of ways we may add, little things to make folks glad,
Helping, caring, being stewards…
offering beauty to our world!
Kindness + service = beauty
What makes you come alive and add beauty to the world?
