I’m sharing a bit of my Bible journaling today.
I first saw Bible journaling in 2015. I loved the idea and have enjoyed following some accounts on Instagram who share their art and Bible pages.
It inspired me to give it a try here and there.
I’ve done a variety of things.
Handlettering has been my main thing.
I’ve done some drawing and some tracing. I traced these praying hands. I found a picture and printed it out and then traced it on my page.
I did draw this dress. I had a picture I looked at and sketched my own.
Closer look…..
I drew this flower and did some lettering. I can’t just sit down and draw, but if I have a picture to look at, I can give it a go and end up with something I like…..sometimes. π π
This was a simple idea with the circles and colors and lettering.
Recently, I’ve added some embellishments and cut-outs. I’ve also used some stamps and I think I failed to take any photos showing my stamps. I like stamps, but I seem to excel at smearing them. Haha!
A friend gifted me with these adorable little library cards. I absolutely love them and they’ve been a perfect fit on some of my pages.
I drew this bit of wheat.
More lettering…..it really is my favorite….and generally it doesn’t take a lot of time. The drawings take more time for me.
I’ve added notes or things I want to remember from a study.
I’ve used a few of theseΒ Dayspring cardstock stickers.
Β It’s really been something I’ve enjoyed and done more than I first thought I would.
Last year, I won a giveaway for the black journaling Bible over at Jenifer Metzger’s blog.
I started using it some just last month. I like the size of it.
I’ve had my Women of Faith study Bible for eight years and it’s my favorite. I think because I have used it for a while and it has lots of notes and underlining and highlighting in it and now my journaling. I really like .
I realized I have a small collection of Bibles as I was thinking about putting this post together. I gathered them up for a couple of photos.
From left to right in the photo:
The large brown Bible is a comparison Bible. It contains four versions laid out side by side. I like having them all there together.
Next is the She Reads Truth Bible. I recently received a copy of this and I really like several of the features it contains. {And we’re going to have a giveaway for a copy for one of these very soon.}
Next is another study Bible and this one is the HCSB version. I like using different versions.
On to my NIV study Bible and the one I use the most.
Then my black NIV journaling Bible.
And then on the end is my NASB Bible. I had a couple of Bible studies using this version and I also like this size to take places sometimes.
Tell me ~ do you have a favorite Bible? I’d love to hear about it!

Hi Deborah~I am your neighbor at Holley Gerth’s blog post page. Your Bible artwork is beautiful and inspiring. I have never tried this myself but I am sure it is a beautiful worship time with our Lord. The Bible I meet God is the Application Study Bible. I do doodle, underline and write out my thoughts in it. Thank you for sharing your art of faith in Him.
Thanks for your kind words.
I have really enjoyed it. I do a lot of lettering and highlighting and underlining as well.
I certainly don’t do the beautiful artwork that a lot of Bible journalers do. I’ve seen some beautiful watercolor and paintings.
Wonderful Bible Journaling! I have bee using the Beautiful Coloring Bible and I have really enjoyed it! Here is what I journaled from this past week: http://paulettespapers.com/?p=14273
