One of my son’s friends was very fascinated with bugs and creepy-crawlies when he was younger. He was always checking out something when he was outside! I’m really kind of glad my kids haven’t wanted to collect live bugs like some kiddos do!
I do remember chasing fireflies/lightning bugs when I was a kid and owning a “Bug Barn” to put them in. We had a lot of fun doing that. I still love the look of a field at twilight with lightning bugs soaring and blinking above it. We have them some here in Kansas, but nothing like they do in Ohio.

This sounds like something our youngest would love. He has five ‘pets’ he has been watching at the moment. All are spiders with large webs at various places outside. A couple of weeks ago he had 3 crickets, a grasshopper, & a praying mantis in a tank in our living room.
I’m thankful it was your living room! 😉 The ability spiders have to spin a web is amazing, but I don’t like spiders at all.

Yes, I have a bug lover in my home. My son shares my interest in bugs and has a pretty nifty little bug collection of his own.
That’s cool! Collections are neat and teach so much.
No we pretty much run from them. lol.. but we love knowledge, on just about anything.
I will second what you said. 🙂 Pretty much describes us too. I always shudder and kick wildly when a grasshopper lands on me when I’m mowing!

I’m glad I’m not alone!! I always have to chuckle at myself and think that anyone that would happen to see me would get a good laugh. We live somewhat in “the middle of nowhere”, so I only have the occasional farmer or neighbor driving by when I’m mowing. 🙂
I do have a bug lover in my family. His name is Otto, and he is a dog. He loves to play with bugs.
Our dog, Cooper, likes to chase bugs too. Or eat the grasshoppers out of the grill of my husband’s pickup.
No bug lovers here but I scored Bug Boss on the quiz!

My kids are curious about all things, including bugs. They will look, but I could never get them to hold one.
