After a good night’s sleep, we got up for our last couple destinations in Colorado before we headed back east towards home. And flat land!! We’re more used to heading west when we’ve been away and are heading home.
We ate breakfast with Matthew’s cousin and family. It was fun to visit with them a little while and to know the area where they live now.
We then took the drive to Monarch Pass and rode the cable cars up, up, up for a fantastic view at the top! Mountains everywhere you look!
Renae had a camera along at this stop and a lot of these pictures are the ones she took. Especially the shots out of the cable cars. I didn’t love looking down out of it too well. I loved looking through her photos and seeing things from her view. She’s going to have to be a photographer more often. She does enjoy it; just doesn’t always like the bother of carting a camera along.
Map in the station house at the top~the kiddos enjoyed looking at the maps and adding pushpins.
On the top!
Ready to go back down……………………
And time to head home! On the way to Colorado, we kept commenting that we were climbing and heading uphill. It became our joke. So as we headed home, we started commenting on going back down!! We climbed all the way to Colorado and headed down most of the way home! 🙂 Ah, flat land again!

Glad to see the pictures of the rest of your trip. It looks pretty high up for me! But it is beautiful! And so are the people. 🙂
Great pics! Looks like fun – except for having to wear coats! Brrrr.!
