For what you see and hear depends a good deal on where you are standing: it also depends on what sort of person you are. ~ C.S. Lewis
There’s much to ponder about PERSPECTIVE, PLACEMENT, and POSITIVITY. The way I perceive life, the part of the world I live in and the attitude I choose to color it all with. This quote has had me thinking…….

And this book! I loved reading it.
I’m a homebody. Tsh is a world traveler. She’s a minimalist. I’m a cozy collector. {In between minimalism and hoarding. 🙂 } I’m introvertish and I think she is too. 😊 I’ve enjoyed reading her other books and her blog.
There are some places I would love to travel and visit. Maybe I’ll get to. Maybe not. BUT I love books and stories and I love how they take us places. And how a good book makes a great companion anywhere in the world!
We have a copy of At Home in the World to give away!
I did so very much enjoy reading this story.
Parts of it made me quite glad to be curled up on my couch, in my home, reading a book. Parts of it made me want to book a flight and pack a bag. But a bigger bag than one backpack per person! 🙂 😉 {See this post.}
If you enjoy stories, you’ll like this book.
If you are an adventurer or wanderer, you’ll like it and love it and want to hug it.
If you’re a homebody, you’ll love visiting places through the pages.
I really enjoyed Tsh’s perspective on wandering the globe and simultaneously longing for home. For finding that she loves travel and she loves home. She wants to see new places, experience new things, but some days at the end of the day she longs for her own cozy couch and favorite coffee mug.
The pages find us in China and Asia, boarding planes to Australia and Africa, trekking through Hong Kong and Thailand, Uganda and Ethiopia. Visiting a sponsored child through Compassion, bumping along roads, trying new foods…good and not-so-good, meeting up with friends at the park, going to Paris and London, pizza and macchiatto in Italy, stamps in passports and beauty found all around the globe!
I really enjoyed getting to share in her story. While my life is vastly different, our work and means of producing a living vastly different, {Farmers don’t exactly pack up their work and travel the globe. Seems farmland acreage and tractors are a bit big for backpacks!} I could still relate to some of the same feelings and concerns Tsh shares. We both create home for our families. We both have values and goals we desire for our children. We both struggle with decisions and choices. We both feel excitement and weariness and intimidation. We both hate tarantulas. We both like books.
tell me ~ have you read this book?

One of my favourite books is “The Scarlet Feather” by Maeve Binchey.
I love a good story line, my all time favorite is Gone with the Wind.
I do love a good story! I love the stories in Anne of Green Gables and other books by Lucy Maude Montgomery.
I love those books too. The Blue Castle and Jane of Lantern Hill are two of my favorites.
I do love a good story. 🙂 I also agree with you – I love to read about traveling, and look at other people’s photos, but I don’t know how well I would fare actually traveling myself. I like all types of “cozy” mysteries, and right now I am revisiting the Puzzle Lady series.
I do love a good story! Reading has taken me many places! My all time favorite book is I know why the Caged Bird Sings. Thanks!
