LIVE from Mindy Mae’s Market………….ok, wait, we’re not “technically” live from Mindy Mae’s. ‘Cause we’re not actually at Mindy Mae’s and it’s not like it’s live video……….however I am alive, so that would sorta work and we could sorta virtually be live with styles from Mindy Mae’s.
Never mind.
It just seemed like a good way to start the post out.
So, we’ll roll with it!
🙂 🙂 🙂
YOU can be “live” at Mindy Mae’s Market by clicking over here to check out all their fun styles and FLORALS. Don’t miss the part about florals.
And while we’re on the subject of florals and Mindy Mae’s, hop over here to enter the giveaway for a gift card. It’s open for a couple more days.
I am quite, quite excited and happy and delighted with this outfit. Even though, it’s not floral!
I love stripes too. I figured this out a few years ago. {I’m a little slow.} But I started to notice all the stripes I owned. Striped shirts in my closet. My comforter is striped. My favorite shower curtain is striped and I’ve owned it for years now. I picked out sheets for my son’s bunk bed in a green and blue stripe pattern. I have bins for toys in the basements that are striped. I buy striped wrapping paper.
I like to mix in some polka dots too, but the stripes call me!
If you love stripes and florals and all the fun things too, well, come sit by me. We’ll chat it up. 🙂 I’m totally borrowing that invitation to come sit by me from Karianne over at Thistlewood Farms. It’s such a fun way of saying, “Hey! I relate to that,” or “I’ve struggled with that too!”
I’m so super happy to be reading her book So Close to Amazing as part of the launch team. I already know two friends I want to gift it to. It’s absolutely amazing. 🙂 You really do want to pre-order it. In my opinion. It’s definitely already on my ten favorite-reads-for-this-year list.
She uses the “Come sit by me,” in her blog posts and it shows up in her book. She also talks with total asides and I totally love that, because rabbit trailing is something I excel at!!
And the So Close to Amazing? WELL. Instead of feeling like a failure when things don’t go as planned or getting drowned in discouragement when life is hard or becoming overwhelmed by the piles of dirty laundry or crumbs collected on the counter and under the counter and by the counter, you give it a new name. SO CLOSE TO AMAZING.
I’ve been learning to laugh a little harder and longer at myself and whisper #soclosetoamazing! Or shout it out, loud and long…………SOoooooooo Cloooooooooooooooose toooooooooooo Amaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaazing!!!!
It’s unbelievably good therapy.
Speaking of amazing, this necklace is amazing and is so much a favorite of mine {Apparently this post is going to be all about things I so love and swoon over!!}
I liked it when I got it, but then it quite quickly became a total favorite.
You can find it from Aimee Weaver designs. I adore the size of it, the words, {of course} and the feather. They make me happy.
Another amazing favorite of mine from Mindy Mae’s are my double hood sweatshirts. This wardrobe post shows one of them.
I think I got all rabbit trailed about my stripes and forgot to mention the vest. I love pairing it with the dress.
And you know I’m all about a good versatile vest………..see past post here….. 😉
I need to be fixing food and coming up with recipe ideas. Harvest is pressing in and almost to step on my toes.
I’m still struggling along with my porch posts and paint. #soclosetoamazing
I painted some more yesterday and I’m very close to having them all covered in white paint. Yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What are you excited about this week?

Looks good, especially that pop of colour underneath the dress!

Thank-you so much for your sweet words and confidence booster! 🙂 🙂
I like it. Especially the undershirt!
Thank-you so much! I like the color, too. And the fun thing is almost any color looks good with black and white. 🙂
Deborah,
Are the porch posts and rails finished yet? No pressure… just wondering since I am new to your blog. 😘 Could you come by my house and help finish painting the baseboards that I’ve been working on since April?
Judith
Yes! The porch posts are finished!!! Hooray!! I didn’t have to paint the rails. They are vinyl. The posts had an exterior finish, but still needed painted. For about four and a half years!! Ever since we built the porch and put them in. 🙂 I will say part of the reason they’ve stayed #soclosetoamazing instead of finished is because I’ve dealt with back and sciatic issues over the last two and a half years and there’s always projects and life and such!! 🙂 We moved to out house five years ago and added a garage and porch to it and did some painting and flooring. We also put in a kitchen on the main floor. The previous owners moved the house to its location and the people who’d had the house kept the kitchen cupboards and appliances out of it. There was a kitchen put in the basement and we used it while we had the main floor one finished. {Long story, short.}
