When my Mother was here visiting, she and my daughter and my niece and I, all loaded up, bags and ourselves and lists and laughs, into my vehicle and headed off for A DAY OUT.
Our first stop to shop was at the Family Christian store!
Mother was wanting to get her own copy of Fervent and I was wanting to look for a gift or two.
And I can always browse at a Christian bookstore.
I snapped this photo of all the Armor of God studies lined up on this shelf. It grabbed my attention, since I was just finishing this study.
We hadn’t shopped too long until we noticed some sale signs and with closer attention realized Family Christian was offering a Buy One Get One 50% off on many, many items! And happy! ALL BOOKS included, making Fervent part of the deal! Coloring books were part of the deal too, and I was tempted, BUT I have a couple I really like and I don’t need to add to the stack right now.
Later in the day, I checked my email and found I had an offer for a review and giveaway option for Family Christian! It was pure coincidence that it arrived on the very same day wherein I’d spent part of my morning at a Family Christian. It was a fun coincidence, I must say!
I was definitely all about this offer and replied as soon as I was able.
Besides, while we’d realized the store was offering BOGO 50% off, we didn’t realize how many items were included. There was a wall art picture I had liked very much, but didn’t get. Later, I realized it was part of the deal!
Family Christian sent me a $25 gift certificate and they are giving a gift certificate to one of my readers as well! Gift certificates and gift cards are great in my book! I love receiving them. It’s kind of like a double gift. It’s FUN when you get it and it’s FUN when you go to use it.
I think they make great gifts, too, for various reasons. They fit any occasion. The receiver can choose what they want or need. They’re great for hard-to-buy-for folks and they make a super thank-you gift!
The Buy One Get One 50% off deal is STILL going on at Family Christian. It ends August 25th.
It includes:
ALL BOOKS
ALL MUSIC
ALL DVDS
ALL COLORING BOOKS
ALL WALL ART
ALL KITCHEN
ALL JEWELRY
ALL BOXED CARDS
Think Christmas shopping! {I know, it’s still August.}
I also like to pick up favorites to have on hand for a last minute gift.
Plus, you can mix and match from within all categories!
When my Family Christian certificate arrived, as soon as I had a chance, I grabbed my phone and curled up in my chair and brought up FamilyChristian.com.
I found the wall plaque I’d liked and put it in my cart. I’ve been reading Emily P. Freeman’s A Million Little Ways. I’ve wanted to read her book, Grace For the Good Girl for a long time, so I searched it and clicked it into my cart as well. Both the plaque and book were part of the BOGO 50% off. Hooray!
I browsed through the Mugs & Cups Sale category and found this water bottle. My favorite water bottle broke a while back and I picked up a cheapie at Wal-mart and the top of it got melted in the dishwasher and so next I found a metal one at T. J. Maxx, but the lid is plastic and had a spout and recently the spout was broken off, though I technically can still use it because you can sort of hold the spout on it.
With the water bottle upon water bottle replacement going on around here, when I saw this one in the clearance section for $5 and when I saw the verse on it, it promptly went in my cart and I am excited to try it out.
There is some really cute washi tape I looked at and thought hard about getting, but the water bottle won out!
I thought it was easier to see what all was on sale online than it was in the store. {Note: My above mention of not realizing what-all-was-on-sale-when-I-was-in-the-store. 🙂 🙂 }
Online, the BOGO items are marked and the sale items are shown with the full price crossed out and the sale price beside it.
There are some other sale items over here in the Sale category. Oh, and God’s Not Dead 2 is now available on dvd! We haven’t seen it yet, but it is on our to-watch list! Another dvd you could snag is Miracles From Heaven. I talked about it in this Yarn Along.

I love John 16:33. It has inspired me during rough times.
Isn’t it wonderful to have words of hope and peace and encouragement to hang on to in rough times? As well as the good times, too!
I love inspirational historical fiction. I just finished a seven book series Cheney Duvall, M.D. by Lynn Morris & Gilbert Morris. They are excellent writers. It is about a lady doctor and her travels around the world and her travels in faith, what she comes up against as a female doctor and how others look at her. She grows a lot and the journey is fantastic. . I also just finished a book by Francine Rivers “Leota’s Garden” This was also excellent Both talk a lot about faith and trust and obedience.
I read some of the Cheney Duvall quite a few years ago and enjoyed them.
I also read Leota’s Garden and several of Francine Rivers’ other books. They were good.
I am really starting to enjoy Francine Rivers. A friend had lent me the previous book. She just lent me another Francine Rivers “The Last Sin Eater” . I have not started it yet. But the Authors’ note is: The sin eater was a person who was paid a fee or given food to take upon himself the moral trespasses of the deceased and their consequences in the afterlife. Sin eaters were common in the early nineteenth century in England, the Lowlands of Scotland, and the Welsh border district. This custom was carried over by immigrants to the Americas and practiced in remote areas of the Appalachian Mountains. This is a purely fictional story of one such person.
This really does sound interesting.
Have a fantastic fall, Lori
Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me:)
I love the book “Jesus > Religion” by Jefferson Bethke. Such a well written book!

Your picture sounds beautiful and lovely!
Casting Crowns is still my favorite Christian band, even 10+ years later.
We like Casting Crowns too! 🙂
I love Family Christian decor items. I have some of their pillows with inspirational quotes (like “Blessed”) and they make me smile.
Inspirational quotes are one of my favorites as well!
Psalm 23 is my favorite
It’s such a beautiful Psalm.
“Unlocking Heaven’s Power” by John Paul Jackson is one of my favorite books. I love the way he wrote – just like he spoke: clear and concise.
I would love to begin Bible journaling – what a great way to emphasize the verses that jumped out during Bible study!
I would love to have the live, laugh love canvas wall hanging
