We put our Christmas decor away and spruced up our home a bit. I styled and added in decor, creating home and using things I love!
I don’t really major in decor, but I certainly enjoy it and enjoy changing things up in our spaces a few times a year.
January is still cold, still winter, and February brings us Valentine’s Day. I’ve always liked Valentine’s Day.
When I put the Christmas decor away, I usually pull out some other things I have and love and then add a few touches for Valentine’s Day.
Love this hat! My sister found it, {of course!} 🙂 She used it for a while and then passed it on to me when she was doing some changing up and sorting through. If you love decor, go check out her blog!
A couple of favorite books ~ The Nesting Place and Bread & Wine.
Old Valentine, glass bottles…love glass bottles!!
I don’t have a lot of shelves in our living room and I don’t have a mantle. Our coffee table is one of my main places for decor. I’ve thought about eventually getting a set of shelves or a corner cupboard, but I’m not exactly sure what I want and I’m not in a hurry. I like some decor and some spaces for decor, but I don’t want too many and I don’t want too crowded. Our living room is sort of a funny shape and I like the furniture we have in it and how it is working for now. I’ve not been struck by any other inspirations, so we’ll see.
If we had time and money, I’d love to open up the stairway at least partway. I’ve always loved open staircases and wooden banisters. So beautiful. And a wonderful place for decor!
January is both my babies’ birth month.
At our old farmhouse, I used their baby outfits sometimes as part of my decor. I hadn’t really done that here.
I recently had their baby outfits out and I really wanted to do something with them.
I hadn’t been sure what.
I put them on the old dresser when I was re-doing, and I like them there.
Especially, as birthdays draw near.
Where did the baby go?
These were our coming home outfits!
I have this little glass picture frame that hangs and it mostly resides on my china cupboard door. I have some different old postcards and I like changing them out for the different holidays and seasons.
Right now we have a wintery looking one and my toy teabag hearts.
I put together a bit of a wintertime, valentine vignette on this table.
And that pretty much sums up my freshened up decor and Valentine touches after the Christmas decor was tucked away for another year.
You can see some of my decor in a post from last year. Several of the same pieces, but a different variety and display!
