Cold outside. Warm inside. Fresh, hot biscuits. Yes, please!
Appetizer served ~ crackers & cheese on a pretty plate.
Study time ~
Trusty wheelbarrow outside the basement door. Wonderful wood hauler!
Garage ceiling! Hurrah! Basically finished.
Now, thinking about paint for the walls. Another winter project.
Glowy, shimmery candleholders ~ I’ve been enjoying them on my kitchen table.
Lego Nativity ~ this is the third year, my son has built one for me. I wanted to make sure I included it somewhere on here. I still have some posts I’d like to compile from our Christmas. We have past Lego nativities here and here.
I’m excited about the Identity Declaration song from the Living Proof Live simulcast back in September. Travis Cottrell and his praise team got it recorded and shared it last week. Find it over here! And while you’re at The LPM Blog, I think it’s worth your time to read It’s Hunting Season for Heretics.
Sew a Fine Seam is having a giveaway! Go enter! She is giving away a copy of The Nesting Place. I LOVE that book.

We had appointments to keep and go to last week. We stocked our freezer with hamburger. We canned chili beans. We made peanut butter pie. We had a family get-together. We got to see our baby niece from eastern KS. We uploaded pictures to Wal-Mart and had them printed. Some for us, some for Grandma R. some mailed to Aunt E. We had lunch at south Mexican and chatted with friends just a bit, who were having lunch there too. We did laundry. We sorted mail. We read books. We organized in garage. We made applesauce jello. We watched movies. We stayed overnight at a friends’. We worked on the dryer. We rearranged some in the living room. We put away Christmas decor and freshened things. We rested. We’ve been enjoying handsoaps from Bath & Body and flickering candles on these cold, wintery days and dark evenings. We built Legos. We helped Dad. We worked on projects.
I came across this definition for cherish in a book.
Cherish ~
to hold dear, to treat with tenderness, to nurse, to nourish, nuture, foster, support, cultivate
This verse caught my attention.
Romans 12:12
Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.
Ten words. Boy, do they say a lot.
Joyful in hope. Hmmm. Hope usually means I’m waiting or expecting or looking forward to or looking for. I don’t love to wait. Hmmm. JOYFUL in hope.
Patient in affliction. DO NOT LIKE AFFLICTION. No, I don’t. No way. Patient in affliction.
Faithful in prayer. Keep praying. Always. Faithfulness. Persevering. Believing. Not giving up. Faithful in prayer.

Garage ceiling looks great. Love the candle holders.
Having the ceiling finished is making a difference in the garage temperature! And I haven’t had the candle holders out for a while, so I have enjoyed them!
Love that garage ceiling! And the nativity – way to go Tucker!
Yes, he added on to the nativity this year. 🙂
