Apple pie seems to stand for Americana and I like apple pie, but I’m also a fan of this blueberry pie! My mother made both when I was growing up and I loved them then and love them now!
Do you have a favorite pie recipe?
Ingredients
- 4 cups blueberries, fresh or frozen
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- dash of salt
- 1 unbaked pie shell or pastry for a two-crust pie
- 1 tsp. lemon juice
- 1 T. butter
Instructions
If you are using frozen blueberries rinse off any ice crystals and drain for a little.
Mix dry ingredients together.
Add blueberries and stir to cover berries.
Transfer to pie shell.
Sprinkle with lemon juice and dot with butter.
Cover with top crust or a crumb crust.
Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes to 1 hour. {till bubbly around edges}
Notes
I almost always use frozen berries. This pie is so yummy, unless you're not a blueberry fan! Serve with vanilla ice cream or a cold glass of milk.
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup sugar or brown sugar
- 3/4 cup flour
- 1/3 cup butter
Instructions
Mix sugar and flour. Cut in butter until crumbly and just right for a crumb topping!
Notes
Sometimes I use brown sugar and sometimes white! It is tasty either way.

My fav – right up there with Cherry! Can’t ever decide for sure which one I like best π
I definitely like blueberry over cherry! The cherry is yummy too, but blueberry is better in my book. π
