Attention:Announcement:Hooray:The winner of Darby Dugger’s book For the Love of Our Husbands is Danita! Thank-you to everyone who entered. I wish I could’ve given everyone a book. I almost hated to pull a name out of the hat bowl, because I felt disappointed for all the names that didn’t get drawn. So my husband did it for me. LOL! You can follow Darby on facebook, check out her website, and read her blog here. If you didn’t win, but you want to own Darby’s book you can shop Amazon for it, here. Or shop her website for it here.
In other news, the cabinet guys have been working at our house again this week. Another hooray! I really didn’t think they would be back till sometime next week. They are working on countertops and getting the island set. Maybe*crosses fingers* sometime next week the cupboards and countertops will be done!! Then I can have fun washing the dust off of them. It’s so much more fun to clean something you love!
That will bring us to the fun part of finishing up all the things that won’t be done yet, to make the kitchen usable. We’re hoping to tile a backsplash between the cupboards and the appliances will have to be set and the sink put in and we need lights under the cupboards and overhead. Projects never end!
We spent yesterday afternoon splashing at the pool with my cousin and her kids. Everyone had a good time and came home tired. We had a little rain Wednesday evening and the temperatures were in the 90’s instead of over a 100. You would think as dry as we are that all the moisture would be pulled in by every parched corner, but it was sticky and humid yesterday.
While we had several things happening this week, it was a much slower week than the prior weeks of our summer have been. It felt good! And I still have a list of things I thought I might work on this week that haven’t happened!
I don’t know if you have seen the “I’m Farming and I Grow It” video on youtube, but it has been a favorite around here since it showed up on youtube. The video has had 6,261,651 views as I type this and I’m pretty sure half of them have come from us!! 🙂 Pretty close anyways! Check it out if you haven’t! Kansas farm boys-woo-hoo!
This little farmer has been farmin’ it and growin’ it in our basement this week!
Blessings on your weekend!
