Hello Monday! A new week! And a peek back at just some stuff that happened around here last week.
Hello to good-bye sandburr stickers. You are not welcome on this farm. Each battle will get us a slight bit closer to winning the war. Someday we hope to have nice green yard that is grass instead of weeds.
Hello tractor tire trouble. Not the most fun job in 100+ temperatures. I am selfishly glad working on tires is not part of my job description.
Hello chocolate chip cookie cupcakes! You are much more welcome on this farm than the sandburrs. My tastebuds love you, my hips do not.
Hello to countertops being installed!!
Hello to everyday life with dishes to load and unload and put away.
Hello to my farmer and his tractor in the field.
Hello to more sweet corn to eat! Hooray!
Hello to drumsticks from the grill. Hello to memories from my childhood of our annual chicken barbeques. Almost every summer my parents would host a chicken barbecue for my mother’s family. As a kid, I loved it and looked forward to playing with my cousins.
The smell of the homemade bbq sauce evoked memories of my mom stirring it up and pictures of my dad barbecuing lots of chicken. We didn’t have a very handy place for our grill at our old farmhouse. I have enjoyed having the grill in a handy spot and using it this summer at this house!
Hello to caring for baby kittens! Hello to the Olympics! Hello to swimming! Hello to a relaxing Saturday! Hello to my Nehemiah Bible study! Hello to the Ultimate Grilled Cheese! Hello to laundry! Hello to A Lineage of Grace for my Bible study group! Hello to running errands! Hello to reading Kisses from Katie to my kiddos! Hello to fixing food!
What highlights happened in your week last week?

Hello!! Hello to stacks and stacks and stacks of sewing that must get stitched this week! MUST. So hello sewing machine – you and I will be well known to each other this week!
I have a few must-get-done’s this week too. Thankfully it’s not piles of sewing! 😉
Yeah, about that grilled cheese. Oh my goodness. I decided to try to just make regular old grilled cheese on the waffle iron. BIG.GEST MIS.TAKE EVER. I bet I spent no less than 30 minutes cleaning that thing afterwards. The cheese all leaked out so basically you just had waffle bread, none of the children (my 3 plus 2 extras that day) ate them and big mess. I don’t even think I’m going to try the other recipe – I’ve banned anything but waffle mix in the waffle iron :o) It looks delicious though – have you tried it?
I did make the grilled cheese and used my waffle iron. They were yummy! I had a little that leaked on the edges, but it cleaned up easily. I didn’t specifically follow the recipe when I filled them. Also the filling is thicker with the cream cheese in it.
I don’t blame you-spending forever cleaning a waffle iron is not high on my list of fun things to do.
These sandwiches would be just fine grilled in a skillet!
Hi! I’m new here from Lisa Leonard! I’m a farm girl too – but our farm is only 8 acres in Texas! I love the picture of your husband’s tractor – all that dust looks like it hasn’t rained much where you’re at.
Have a great week!
We are dry like many parts of the country! Our farm is small too, but most days we are thankful for the opportunity God has blessed us with! 🙂
I like taking pics of my man’s machinery and he likes to look at my photos.
Thanks for stopping by!
