The beginning of each week we have a trial spelling test. Twice a week it’s spelling study time! As my daughter spells her words to me and I listen, I remember. I remember studying my spelling words and spelling them to my mother in preparation for a spelling test. I enjoyed spelling. It came easily to me, for the most part. As I get older, I have to stop and think about how some words are spelled. They don’t flow as easily as they did. I really don’t like that! I do like that I am getting a refresher course as we work on spelling words each week!
I feel the same way with math. My son is working on multiplication tables and I feel like I’m getting a refresher course – especially with the 8s!
So true! Plus, schoolwork is more interesting as an adult, I think. Partly, because you understand the importance of learning and partly because you aren’t required to do it! 🙂
