Linking up with Ginny and Frontier Dreams.
My dishcloths continue in this Aqua yarn. My plan is to stick with it for a while. In my mind’s eye, I know I’m picturing a stack of dishcloths all in aqua. It would be fun to photograph!
A close-up peek at the pretty aqua and the dishcloth and the pink roses and the flexi holding my project!
And my little Candlewick salt cellars! They rank among my favorites. My aunts gave them to me when I was a teenager to add to my Candlewick collection.
My fingerless mitt project ~ it had languished. I’m getting close to the finish. But it needs a mate!
OH MY GOODNESS!
LOOK!
I finished my baby sock. I’m just all sorts of happy.
It too needs a match so, now to make another one, so they can be a pair.
Obviously, I’m into projects of doubles!! Ha!
I think the foot of it looks rather long, but I *think* *think* I followed the pattern correctly. And my babies had short feet, so perhaps there are many babies it would fit right on. Or then again, maybe it is like the elusive glass slipper! Besides there is only one!
This yarn has been hanging around because I have a sweater I want to try. THE THING IS. As many attempts as my teeny baby sock took and startovers and begin-agains, well, it has me really doubting my sweater making. BUT, I’m going to try anyway. I don’t know how soon I’ll get started. And harvest season is coming. BUT, I’m going to try. WHEN I get it started, my Yarn Along may turn into a very boring same, same, same, same, same,same, same, same, for weeks and weeks.
We shall see. 🙂
Book Talk.
Melissa Micheals has a name for the things around home that need done every day or almost every day and are part of a never-ending cycle of life.
She calls them The Dailies! Quite appropriate, huh?
Her checklist for each day is this:
Diligence with Dishes
Little Bit of Laundry Love
Bring the Bed Back to Beautiful
Cleaning Frenzies
She makes a point to keep up with dishes, do one load of laundry, make the bed, and do short bursts of cleaning and clean up in each day.
What works for you around your house?

I started this book this week. It’s easy to read and one of my favorite kind of books. Deidra Riggs shares life stories that the reader can relate to and brings pause and attention to gratitude for every little thing. It inspires you to embrace life and all the good and every good day.
Slowly paging through this one. Some viewpoints aren’t so much mine and some of Sarah Bessey’s stories and words I find myself completely relating to and nodding my head emphatically. Some of her journey feels familiar and I find myself pondering and thinking long and considering what God is showing me about “me” in this.
I finished it!! All I can say is if you want gentle encouragement, if you like to laugh, if you want and easy-to-read and encouraging book, then YOU want to go pre-order Giddy-Up, Eunice.
Because Women Need Each Other.
It’s true. We need the wisdom of the older women ahead of us and before us in life. They’ve just been THROUGH things, ya know? I loved the older women in my Bible study group. It was one of my favorite things about it. They had LIFE EXPERIENCE. They didn’t think they knew it all. Oh no! But they’d walked more years than me and they’d raised children and had jobs and loved husbands and fixed meals and prayed prayers. They could share what worked or didn’t work for them.
We’re not cookie cutter people with mirror image lives. Different things WILL work or NOT work for each of us. Yet, there’s so much we can glean from each other. {I’m feeling all happy to interject glean, because Naomi and Ruth show up in the pages of Giddy Up, Eunice. They immediately popped to mind when the word glean settled itself into my sentence. 🙂 }
And on the other side of this whole women needing each other thing, are the younger women coming up behind us. They need older women who are willing to invest in them and be interested in them and pass on the baton and torch and candle and whatever else there is to pass on!
It doesn’t take long to get to the age where we have older women and younger women in our lives. What a blessing! May we inspire each other on to good works!
By all means, Giddy Up, Eunice!!
{Can you guess who Eunice is?}

These pom-poms have been oh-so-patiently waiting. I keep spying the bag they’re in and I’m ready to pursue this project again. They just look harvest-y and summery to me. Whatcha think?
I asked Tucker to choose a book for me this week for KID PICK.
He readily agreed and bounded down the stairs. He returned with the book………………
TUCKER!!!
Louis L’amour.
My man never loved to read, but he did read some Louis L’amour and Tucker happened to be one of his favorites. Now, our very own Tucker has his very own copy and this book is one of his faves as well. 🙂
