I love how pretty yarn is. It’s so cheery. I like how I can just lay my knitting down and it fits in as part of the decor.
I finished the other dishcloth from last week and need to thread the ends in and package them up and send off to my giveaway winner.
I started this dishcloth and have knitted a row here and a row there and got a start to it!
Loving all the colors! So difficult to choose a favorite yarn. I’m glad I can just enjoy a variety!
I’ve been slowly reading through this book for a while. It is due at my library, so I need to get it finished. It has given me lots to think about and it has some really great points and has made me mull things over and once again, realize how much alike we all are and how much each and every one of us have hurts and the power to hurt others.
I’ve also thought again and again as I’ve read it about how much Jesus Christ is our fulfillment and how much he loves us and fixes our broken and hurt places. The author doesn’t present her book from a faith angle, but Jesus just came to mind for me again and again. I so believe Him to be our help. Oh, I still struggle. I’ll never reach perfection here or become totally free from pains and hurts and the angst others can inflict. Yet, JESUS!!!
I talked about Coco’s Candy Shop last week. I have so many children’s books I love, that I thought I will just keep often including them in these posts.
This book is so awesome! Mamas reach for your Kleenex!! We always celebrate firsts, but the lasts can often slip by unnoticed. This book gives them their honor.
Here’s an excerpt ~
The last time that you catch a frog
in that old backyard pond,
The last time that you ran barefoot
across our fresh-cut lawn,
Silly, scattered images
will represent your past,
I keep on taking pictures,
never quite sure of your lasts….
Karen Kingsbury
I so love it! Makes me cry every time.
Linking up with Ginny and with Frontier Dreams~
Also, Lilla Rose announced a quick 24 hour sale yesterday morning.
It has been extended until this evening, due to their site getting slammed yesterday and causing it downtime.
50% off retiring flexis ~ great time to snag a style or two! For two reasons ~ Because they’re on sale and because they’re leaving for good!

I love the colours of the dishcloth, reminds me of ice cream. so summery and pretty!
Oh, I love that description! I hadn’t thought about ice cream, but it does!!
I just love the colors in that yarn for your dish cloth. You just gave me another idea to make my next Color Affection. Sometimes knowing that my library book is due back is what gets me to finish it!
Yarn colors are so fun!
Yes, sometimes deadlines and due dates are what it takes to keep me motivated. Plus, I am generally reading more than one book at a time anymore!
Oh I need to make some dishcloths and I love the colours in yours! A friend of mine gave me some lovely yarn to do so and it’s just sitting there waiting for me. 🙂
Well, dishcloths are my only knitting venture so far. I’ve made them for quite a few years. I’ve never tackled anything more in-depth. They are my all-time favorite kind of dishcloths and I’ve used this kind for over fifteen years! My Grandma made them and would always pass them out to us.
Awww… I love that Karen Kingsbury poem. So sad and true. My guys are all grown up and yes…you just don’t always know when each thing’s last is truly its last.
Love the colors in that dishcloth above!
I can date a few of my children’s lasts, but many of them just quietly and unobtrusively happen!
I keep liking the colors of this yarn more and more too!
