Linking up with Ginny and Frontier Dreams.
This picture gets to go first today, because I am all kinds of excited about this book and the fact that it hit my mailbox Monday.
All kinds of excited! Oh, yes I am!
Sophie Hudson AKA BooMama is one of my favorite authors. Her books make me Laugh Out Loud, girls. And that is nothing to sneeze at or take lightly or put the cat out, about! Life NEEDS Laughter. And lots of it.
The description of Sophie on the back of her book says she likes to laugh everyday. Sign me up!! I like people who know how to get their laugh on. And though, I’ve never met Sophie Hudson, I’m very positive she knows HOW!!!
You can not read BooMama and then not use CAPITAL letters in your own blog post. You just CAN’T.
A few weeks ago, I signed up to be part of the launch team for Giddy Up, Eunice and when the email announcing I was part of the team bounced into my inbox, I beamed!
BECAUSE, that meant I got to read it early. I was already planning to read it. I was already planning to pre-order it. Shoot, I think I already had it in my Amazon cart.
Sophie’s books are THAT much fun!!
And really??? A book named Giddy Up, Eunice?!!!! Just the title alone!!!!
Have you read Sophie’s books?
Here they are in the order they were written.
A Little Salty to Cut the Sweet
However, you don’t have to read them in order.
I recommend adding them to your personal library or requesting them at your local library and reading them, PRONTO!
You will laugh. And be inspired. And want to sit down and drink sweet tea with Sophie. And go eat lunch with Martha. And by all means, you WILL want to Giddy Up with Eunice.
In other Giddy Up, Eunice news it is available for pre-order! AND from May 10- May 17th if you order it, you can receive a FREE copy for a friend!
Go over here to the website and scroll about half way down for details on submitting your purchase receipt and filling out a form for your FREE copy!!
It is available on Amazon here and available at several other booksellers as well!
I had this mug out earlier in the week and was struck with the idea to snap a couple of pictures and stick them in this post.
This was my mug when I was young. It is chipped and cracked, but it still works!
I loved it so much!
I grew up in the CABBAGE PATCH KIDS era.
I remember getting my very first Cabbage Patch doll and I still have him.
He was named Sigmund Shane and I thought he was the best thing ever!
My cousin and I spent hours playing with our Cabbage Patch dolls. Hours.
We’d have our arms full of dolls and diaper bags and blankets as we’d jump in one of our moms’ cars to make the trek to her house or mine.
Kid Pick.
The Alley by Eleanor Estes.
I loved The Moffats series when I was young and they were part of my book collection. I found this book last summer when I visited a little bookstore.
It’s characters are quite as engaging as The Moffats are!
I worked on paper flowers some last week. Fun, fun! It’d been a bit since I’d turned some out.
Dishcloths done and done!
I was glad to finish the dark green. And I have no plans to do another dark one right now! Ha! 🙂 I have a lot of the turquoise yarn, so I’m keeping on keeping on with it. It is all springy and summery and light feeling!
One turquoise dishcloth packaged up for a friend. I forgot to give it to her, so it’s just waiting for the next chance to deliver it!
I use this Sugar ‘N Cream Yarn for dishcloths. All the variety of colors and variegation of yarn makes it fun.
A little more work on my tiny sock project. I didn’t pick it up much last week. I feel rather dense as I try to figure out each step for sure. But it is interesting!!
Are you reading anything new or have you found a book recently that makes you ten kinds of happy?!

Looks like a great book! I am knitting dishcloths this week too! It seems to be my go-to project when I just want to knit something simple.
I agree totally. Dishcloths are the perfect simple go-to project! 🙂
I just put her first book on my “to read” list on good reads based solely on your post! Thanks!!
Oh hooray! That makes me happy! I think her books are so fun. 🙂
Love the paper flowers. And socks are delightful to make – I took a sock class one time at my LYS – it was great. There’s lots of simple patterns, you just have to trust the pattern and do what it says. And maybe ask a knitting friend or go on youtube for specific steps. = ) So fun! Love the color and the teensy tiny bebe sock.. makes me think my sweet daughter needs some fun handknit socks!
Thank-you! I like the paper flowers, too. They don’t take as much thinking as new knitting patterns! 😉
sweet sockies! I took a sock class once at my lys and that’s how I got started! But youtube has some great how-tos and really, you just have to trust the pattern! methinks it’s time for my littlest little to have some handknit socks!
I have watched how-tos on You tube or I probably wouldn’t even have done what I do have finished! 🙂
I’m new to several of the stitches, so they feel strange and it takes me some thinking to figure out how to do them correctly. I remind myself that knitting felt weird when I very first started making dishcloths years ago. 🙂
I want to see your little’s socks if you knit some up!
Happy day!
