It was cold and nasty and terribly windy here yesterday. I was quite happy I could stay tucked inside.
The last week and a half has been a bit of a whirlwind. We had birthdays to celebrate and some appointments to go to and M’s mother had surgery and then ended up back in the hospital with severe pain. We weren’t expecting to spend most of the weekend in the hospital, but isn’t that life? She is fine, thankfully, and home with an antibiotic and needs to rest and take it easy.
I still haven’t picked up my mitts knitting project again! I’m using my brain power on other things and I just pick up my dishcloth and knit on that here and there, instead.
I finished Rising Strong finally, and read The Mistletoe Inn. It was such a fun read!
This week finds me still in the pages of For the Love. I started reading The Witch of Blackbird Pond a bit back. Tucker read it as one of his books for Reading in school. I like The Bronze Bow by the same author and I’ve never read The Witch of Blackbird Pond, so I decided to remedy that.
We have continued reading about all the little creatures from Thornton W. Burgess. Right now we’re on Peter Cottontail. It’s going slower, because we forget about it. When Matthew and Renae were in Haiti, Tucker and I just read some every evening.
We read some of the Richest Man in Babylon aloud last year and at some point we got stalled or interrupted by another book. I can’t remember now!! Anyhow, this week we picked it up again.
Do you like to journal? You might want to check outΒ the 52 Lists Project if you do. It is new to me and the format isΒ to simply record different lists with each list having a different subject.
For example~ Week 3 says List the Happiest Moments of Your Life So Far. That would run a little along the vein of yesterday’s blogpost!
List 6 is ~ List the ways you love to have fun.
List 22 ~ List your favorite places you have been!
See? Isn’t it fun! You can do them in order or flip through and randomly choose a list! You can add to them here and there. I’m looking forward to it.
There’s a giveaway going on here right now for a Favorite Finds Giveaway package! Pop over and enter.
Have a great Wednesday! What are you working on or reading?!

I have been thinking about that 52 lists book…but I have so many books on my “to-get” list that I have been pushing it back. At the beginning of the year there are so many good books that I want to read and immerse myself in, but the end of the year I run out of things, so I am putting this book on my book list π
I think it will be fun and inspiring to fill in the different lists!
Yep. I seem to have a growing to-read and to-get book list! π That’s a good thing, though. I like it that way.
Mm that book sounds really thought provoking
Doesn’t it? I think it will be very fun.
That list book sounds very interesting. Glad M’s mom is ok now…scary times! My daughter knit up some heart shaped dish clothes for valentines day. Have you seen that pattern? super cute! Have a good weekend!
I haven’t seen the pattern! I saw hers on IG and they are ADORABLE!!! I will have to search the pattern. Is it on Ravelry?
Thank-you about M’s mom. We are glad, too.
My adorable, blonde, three-year-old niece invited us to make Valentine cookies this weekend, so it will be fun!
You have a good one too! π
More awesome pompoms! I read The Richest Man in Babylon years ago and really liked it, you’ve just reminded me to look for a copy π
It’s so fun to remember books from years past!
I haven’t made any pom-poms for a little, but they make great props for pictures! π
