Hello Busy Week and my tired brain and wondering just what all did happen last week? 🙂
Hello to getting finished cutting wheat!! Praise God!
It was an alternator-going-out week. One on one of the systems we’re checking-it quite burnt up and one on one of our semis. I got to make parts runs Monday morning and Tuesday morning. Then I went along as my farmer worked on system and checked another one. Then back to the field and to cutting wheat and home for me to throw together some lunch.
Last week was cooler temperatures. Highs in the 80’s several days and lows in the 60’s. It was a welcome break and we enjoyed having windows open. The heat is returning though.
Hello hominy and scrambled eggs! And hello to canning green beans and starting a recipe of pickles. Produce from my mother-in-law’s garden. She always has a gorgeous garden. We’ve picked a few peas from our one row in our garden and our sweet corn is getting tall and putting on ears. Hooray for sweet corn. Can’t wait!
Hello to my husband’s youngest brother and family visiting for a few days. Isn’t our baby niece so cute in her new hat? She looked quite cute at the harvest field. Hello to friends bringing supper to the field one evening. Taco salad and homemade ice cream.
Hello to the kiddos doing chores for our neighbors and rescuing a baby chicken. It was quite cute. Sadly, the garage door got left open and one of our cats, being a cat, killed the poor baby chick. My kiddos love their cats, but they were not very happy with them. Instincts are just a part of nature, I’m afraid.
Hello to the fourth of July! Hello to going to the lake to watch fireworks. It was a good show. Hello to the July flexi!
Hello dear, dear baby nieces! We are quite in love with them. They are SO.MUCH.FUN.
Hello to a week all run together. I still feel a little blurry. Hello to catching up on some rest. Hello to playing groundskeeper most of the day Saturday. I got all my mowing done and we pulled some stickers, watered garden, plants, and yard. We did some trimming and my man moved some pallets and rocks and stuff for me. He brought home combine and trucks. Hello to spending a good bit of time at Matthew’s Mom’s, playing with babies and helping out with some meals. Hello to rhubarb pie and corn chip salad.

Wonderful to have the wheat harvested yet once again! How was the yield? Looks like the corn is holding up well to the heat – praise God for irrigation!

They are so adorable! They’re both first babies, so that gives their mamas a little more time. 🙂
