When my kiddos were small, making cut out cookies was something we did a couple of times a year. They enjoyed it. ย They’d pitch in and help and then get readyย to go off to play before all the cookies were iced and I would finish a lot of them myself. I didn’t mind, because decorating the cookies was one of my crafty things.
We hadn’t made cut-outs for quite a while. They do take time and it seemed for a few years we were busy with other things. Moving and working on house and farm, back issues for me, school stuff, other creative hobbies….we just hadn’t!
Renae mentioned making them and coincidentally, I had been thinking about cut-outs, too.
They just sounded fun.
We found a few new sprinkles and pulled out our acorn and leaf cookie cutters and away we went.
It was a bit different from ten years ago. Or even five.
They rolled them out. Cut them out. Boom. Done.
I didn’t cut nary a cookie!
Colored icing and cookies and sprinkles!!! Love!!! So pretty.

Cool.
While cookies are cooling, combine frosting ingredients. For plenty of frosting you may want to make a recipe and a half.
Frost cookies and embellish with sprinkles!
Eat and enjoy!
Notes
These cookies puff up really pretty when they are baked.
Those look yummy! I would love to do that with my daughter if we can squeeze it in sometime before Turkey Day. Thanks for the tea info – I will have to check that company out. Have a great weekend!
If you want a fun and easy and fast cookie project, we made Acorn treats. You can check them out over in this post. https://adelightfulglow.com/2015/11/acorn-cookies/
It’s chilly here this morning, so hot tea is sounding good! Or hot chocolate!
I would love to be working in your pretty kitchen with you and your kiddos! One of these times it will happen again.
That would be fun! Soon!
Renae still talks about loving your kitchen!
