The sun and the dew and the wheat all spun themselves into a glorious combination on this beautiful spring morning.
I tried.
But as smart as my phone is and as good as the camera contained within is, it could not capture the beauty and shine.
I’d been sitting there in my chair under my cozy blanket reflecting a bit about life.
I read 2 Chronicles Chapter 27.
All 9 verses.
King Jotham of Judah. His life summed up in nine verses.
Nine verses. That’s not very many.
They hit on the highlights.
There’s a whole lot of details we don’t get to hear.
Did King Jotham enjoy coffee or tea when he got up in the morning? Did he have a favorite leisure activity?
Did he have a best friend? Did he like to laugh? Did he have a favorite color? What was his favorite food?
Could he sing or figure math in his head?
A life summed up in nine simple verses. So many things we don’t know.
But two very important things about King Jotham ARE recorded.
Verse 2 tells us ~ He did what was right in the eyes of the Lord.
And then verse 6 lays down his testimony ~ Jotham grew powerful because he walked STEADFASTLY before the Lord his God. { emphasis mine}
β’He walked steadfastly with God, doing what was right.β’
That sums up his life in nine words.
A life in a tweet.
You know what? I’ll take that.
At the end of my life, my nine or five or two verses, if that could be my summation, I will rejoice.
A steadfast walk, doing what is right, glorifying God.

The pictures are gorgeous even if they don’t show how glorious it really was. And, as always, I enjoyed your words. An epitaph to be desire indeed— that we did what was right in the sight of the Lord.
Thank-you!
Your phone still captured the land’s beauty! What a beautiful morning.

It really was!
Amen! It reminds me of of Micah 6:8 which is the verse we’ve prayed over our son since he was tiny. The Lord doesn’t require much of us. We tend to make it WAY more complicated. Do what is right in His eyes and keep on doing it. So good. Blessed to be your neighbor at #tellhisstory. Thanks for your encouragement today, Deborah.
Thank-you for coming by. Micah 6:8 is such a great verse.
We do make things more complicated, don’t we? I often feel like Paul when he says, “The things I want to do, I don’t do and the things I don’t want to do I find myself doing!”
