Job 37:16 ~ Do you understand how the clouds float, those wonderful works of Him who has perfect knowledge?
Beautiful, wonderful, wonderful works!!! How God must delight in creating masterpiece skies and sunrises and sunsets and placing puffball clouds here and wisping a line of them over there. Then does He give this earth we live on, a gentle nudge with his toe, the way I would turn a globe, and paint skies for His people on the other side? Does He touch the clouds with fingertips when He wants to fill them up with rainwater? Perhaps He spins them out now and then, like a cotton candy maker. Or piles and pats and places like a play dough sculpture. I wonder if He ever puts an elephant shaped cloud or a sunflower shape in the sky and chuckles to Himself and cheers when we lay on our backs in the green of a summer meadow and call out cloud shapes. “That one looks like an elephant!” “I see a cozy armchair.” “It’s changing, shifting. Now, I see a bear.”
All the details around me that I take for granted as a normal part of my world. God’s world. Could I have imagined it?! Could I create a cloud? Can I even understand how a cloud floats?
Thank you, Father God, for creation. For beauty. For amazement. For clouds that float.
