I picked up my phone to look at the picture message it had just received.
The picture was of our end dump trailer. And a largish pile of milo on the ground behind it. The message? Well, it read, “Anyone want to come help me?” The sender? My farmer man.
I showed the picture to my son and we began to find jackets and shoes. We all piled into the pickup and made a stop over at the shed to comply to a second text message that said, “Bring scoop shovels-in front of shed.”
Almost every harvest, it seems, we have a grain spill to scoop up. It really makes a good workout though! Definitely could save you a trip to the gym. I really got a good workout by clicking away with my camera. I’m pretty certain that no pile of milo could be scooped up as well, without a photographer there snapping pictures encouragingly. Pretty Certain.
The culprit this time-a smaller door in the end that wasn’t closed tight. And an icy glass of tea to help with a warm, itchy workout in the form of shoveling up milo.
Like I said, I really doubt the work could’ve gotten done nearly as easily without me there shooting a record of it.
While I’m pretty sure my husband didn’t have this event planned into his schedule, I did have fun taking pictures. And for a little, I did even work out with a scoop shovel instead of a camera. No pictures of me, so no proof. I don’t love to have my picture taken and I’m usually the one with camera in hand.
Did you have any unexpected spills or workouts in your week?!

The unexpected spills around here are usually milk. And they don’t make me pick up my camera and start photographing! LOL! The pics are fun – tell Matthew it was worth the spill to have such a fun blog post 😉

I’m sure Matthew will hardily agree! 😉
Just one look at the first picture and I went, “Awww!” So glad the farmer had such willing helpers, especially the photographer(I need to whisper to one of the kiddos to grab the camera and get some candid shots of the photographer sometime!:). It did make a good blog post. Made me think of the saying, When life hands you lemons, make lemonade.
Life never does go just how I want or think it should, and we sure would miss out sometimes if it did.
