The Frog and the Log

The frog saw the log and he said, “Hi”. The log said nothing. “Hi”, said the frog. The log said nothing.

“Well, say hi, thing” said the frog. Nothing said the log.

“Well,” said the frog, “You don’t say hi, so bye.” And he kicked the log. Around turned frog and after him came the log. The frog looked behind him. “Go away thing.” frog said, and he began to sing.

Down came the log and rolled over frog. “Hey, thing, slow down. Boy, do you weigh.”

The log rolled on and on and frog jumped on and on. At last the log hit a tree. “Oh me!” said the frog. “Boy, thing, you are fast. What is your name?”

Some wind blew by just then and a sound came out. Luuuooog.

“Luog,” said the frog, “Let’s be friends.”

So, Luog and Frog played.

Frog rode in Luog down the slope and Frog always wondered why Luog never spoke.
