This is a simple and yummy recipe. It’s a have-the-oven-on and enjoy-the-aroma type of recipe and goes well with fall weather!
My Mother made these when I was growing up. Two of my aunts also made them and at least one of them would make them for her family’s Christmas dinner. When we got married, one of my cousins asked friends and family for favorite recipes and compiled a recipe book for me. I had three people give me this recipe. If three people submitted it, that surely means “tasty”!
I’ve tweaked it a bit, but that’s the nice thing about many recipes. You can change them up to fit your family’s tastes.
Ingredients
- 4 pork chops
- 3 cups soft bread cubes
- 2 T. minced onion
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- 1/4 cup water
- 1/4 tsp. poultry seasoning
- 1 can golden mushroom soup
- 1/2 cup water or milk
Instructions
Brown pork chops on both sides.
Place in a greased 8x8 or 7x11 baking dish.
Mix together bread cubes, onion, butter, 1/4 cup water and seasoning.
Top each pork chop with a mound of stuffing.
Mix soup and water or milk together.
Pour over chops.
Bake at 350 for 1 hour or until juicy and tender.
Enjoy aroma as they bake!
