I praise you Lord, for You are good.
I bow in humble, grateful gratitude,
You fill me up and pour me out and fill me up again-Amen.
Oh, thank-you Lord, my Savior King,
And Spirit-led, my heart it sings,
For You ARE good, you hear my sighs,
You steady me and calm my cries,
My fears and doubts, my weeping eyes,
You see my pain, the blemishes, the spots, the stains, the anguishes,
You see me trip-my foot it slips, my arms they flail, against the gale and knocks of life,
the hard and hurts-the upsets too, they’re known by You, You lead me through,
I lean in hard against the storm,
My voice rings out-panicked alarm!
“Where do I go from here?” I say
(Will you for me these dragons slay?)
I need a peaceful place to stay,
a sheltered, peaceful place to lay,
My burdens down and catch my breath,
This rocky path becomes so rough,
And courage flees and I am scared, Be still, Be still, Rest in the Lord.
Reach out for Christ. Wait patiently.
He catches me so wondrously and hugs me close, binds up all wounds and whispers “Child, Dear, You’re found.
Fear not. Fear not. I’ll soothe your pain. I know each hurt. I know your name.
I SEE you, dear. I HEAR you call.
I know the frights. I feel the falls.
You aren’t alone, no matter what.
No matter how alone it seems, no matter if you’ve lost the gleam,
Of guiding light and foes stand tall,
I won’t forsake. I am your stay, your All-in-All.
You are my child. You make me smile!
You bring me JOY and GLORY too-
Strength to go on, I’ll give to you-
I didn’t make you or equip-
You to do this on your own or all alone-
But to depend on me-Your Savior King who made you free.
I give you tools, but I teach,
My Word is always in your reach,
My Spirit dwells within your heart,
My love for you becomes a part-
Of who you are and it flows forth, I am the never-ending source,
Of truth and righteousness indeed,
Of mercy, grace and freely freed, from chains and shackles, fetters too,
Amazing life I have for you.
My seeds of truth, they sprout and grow, And root down strong ‘gainst doubts that blow.
And storms that rise and Satan’s lies,
And you can always cling to me, e’en trembling knees and faltering pleas,
My ear is never deaf to you-my eyes they see-my arm holds you,
And lifts you up and I provide,
Sustenance and strength, all pure divine,
My angel’s right there by your side.
A table set, bread broke and blessed, in robes of white, refreshed and dressed,
My child, drink deep from the well, My Living Water does prevail,
And you will never thirst again,
I am your Father and your friend.”Β
