Spring came to tease us this week! We had some lovely days and did some outside stuff. I even slipped flip-flops on a couple of times. I’m ready to tuck the socks and coats and boots away. But it looks like colder weather is coming to hang out again this week.
A look back at last week…
We had a photo shoot! I needed to get my Easter cards ordered and I needed pictures of my thirteen-year-old and my ten-year-old. Monday was a beautiful, sunny day with not much wind, so we snapped some photos. I edited, uploaded, and ordered photo cards and photos. Hooray! Done and done.
We tore down old fence that has been needing cleaned up.
We bought fun duct tape.
We posted a Spring Fling Giveaway featuring the Color Green! Hop over here to enter!
We put a garage door in the old garage. My man thought the siding makes the two tone roof stand out even more, but oh well. It’s exciting to get siding on and another door in!
We hung jeans on the line outside!
We washed a very dirty Suburban! {I was quite glad to have kiddos that could wash it.} Snow and rain and dirt roads make for a messy vehicle! My husband did a good bit of washing on vehicles last week.
We had fun when Uncle Jordan and his remote control truck came to visit!
We made Peanut Butter Cake! I loved the consistency of this frosting. It is smooth and creamy and easy to spread.
We inserted this photo into this post that I forgot to put in my post last week!
We had a dead battery on the Suburban. We borrowed the Patrick McManus books from my brother and introduced the kiddos to his humor. We put some food in the freezer. I took several walks. Yay! The kiddos spent a good bit of time outside. The kiddos and Cooper stayed all night at Grandma’s house. We got the go-cart out. Lots of fun again, until we had trouble with a spark plug wire. We had pick-up trouble and I got to pull start it with my Suburban. I fail badly at true farmwifeness. I do not love it when my help is needed for these kinds of things. I spent the day with my man, picking up a trailer for a neighbor. I spent a day with a friend helping her out with some details for her wedding. My farmer man hauled hay. We washed laundry and dishes. We completed schoolwork. We fixed meals and ate meals. We blogged.
And the nice weather made everything just a little more fun!
I’m ready for spring!
What did you do last week?
Psalm 54:4 Surely God is my help; the Lord is the One who sustains me.

Love your blog. I got those flip flops out too and got out and worked with my hubby planting a new herb garden with the pots in ground. It was georgous and I am wondering when this will go away for a final freeze before Easter. Loving it here in Texas.
Your weather is probably even better and warmer than ours!
Sounds like you and your husband have a fun project going. We’ve talked a little bit about our garden for this year.
Your little man has some very funny facial contortions. Love it! Looks like you had a lovely week. What was Renae cutting out? Fun to see some of your week. I would have liked being there when that cake was ready to eat. We haven’t been favored with much spring like weather yet. Just hope that when it comes it will be ready to stay around.
I know. I had some chuckles over his faces and picked out some of my favorites to post here. I need to get your photos in the mail sometime.
Renae cut out a skirt. We really needed more material, but she can wear it around here….providing she gets it stitched up!
We spent a lot of time outside this weekend too. It was so beautiful! That cake looks awesome!
The nicer weather made me realize how much I’m ready for spring. I hadn’t thought I was minding the colder temps until we had this bit of better weather! 🙂
Boy does that Suburban look familiar. I think mine looks more like what your ‘before shot’ might have looked like, though. 😉
It looked much worse!!! They had already sprayed some of the dirt off before I took the pictures. When our roads are muddy, it makes very dirty vehicles. My husband went over the Suburban after the kiddos did, and yesterday, he pointed out a couple of places to them that still were dirty even after all the scrubbing! It takes a couple of washes to really get all the mud and grime off. But we are so thankful for the moisture. Our wheat needed it badly!
What a busy week! That’s an impressive list of “to dones”. Glad someone is getting some spring weather to enjoy. We had a one day tease, but the ground was pretty wet. Hoping it comes to stay in a few weeks.
I will be delighted for spring to come and stay here as well! It seems like we often skip spring and head straight to hot!
I don’t think our list of what we did is too impressive, but thanks. Try jotting down what you do for a week. It sounds much more impressive written down. 🙂 And it really does show that you accomplish more than you think a lot of times!
Wow, what a fun week you had! I think it’s awesome that you live on a farm.
My friend lives on a farm and she homeschooled too. So I used to pack up the kids and we’d drive over for a visit. I would pack several changes of clothes for the youngest and he’d still go through every piece of clothing and get it all muddy and dirty, lol! We usually went home wearing something from her son.
Spring was lovely on her farm. All the new baby animals. The kids and I loved it and hubby did too. Loved holding baby chickens and petting baby goats, etc.
We have had some sunshine here although it’s still been a bit cold. I can’t wait for some warmer weather!
Thanks for linking up to “Making Your Home Sing Monday” today! 🙂
I appreciate many things about our country life and too often take it for granted.
We are a grain farm {primarily wheat} and not too much of an Old McDonald farm. I love that our kids have fun outdoors and have had the privilege of knowing what it is like to harvest crops and plant crops and see the bounty God blesses us with.
We fairly often have a bottle calf or two and that is fun for the kids…and eventually provides beef for our freezer.
I’m ready for the warmer weather to come and stay!! Thanks for stopping by!
Looks like it was a busy but productive week. Isn’t that spring sunshine wonderful? Just stopping by from Lisa’s blog 🙂
Thanks for stopping by!
The sunshine is terrifically wonderful!
Love the photos of the kids! Tuckers faces are so fun! And I’m really liking the jeans photo with the bike in the background – add it to that list…
